Product Details
S&S Organic is a hybrid mattress available in three firmness options: plush, medium-firm, and firm. We tested the medium-firm version for this review, which stands 12″ tall and has 4 interior layers. It scored well for edge support and motion isolation in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us).
As the name suggests, S&S Organic uses organic materials like latex foam and a mattress cover woven from organic cotton. The cotton cover, perforated latex foam, and breathable metal coils provide some cooling benefits, but it lacks other common features found in non-organic mattresses, like cooling gel foam, which allows for enhanced cooling.
In comparison, Logan & Cove Choice is a hybrid mattress with numerous cooling features like cooling gel foam, individually pocketed coils that allow for airflow, and cooling nanofibres woven into the top cover. Choice also has a layer of breathable open-cell Elastex® foam, which provides comparable responsiveness as latex at a more accessible price point.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Silk & Snow uses various couriers for shipping, including FedEX and UPS. Shipping is free for most orders, but shipping surcharges may apply if you live in a remote area. Your mattress should arrive on your doorstep in 2–9 business days, including dispatch and delivery time.
The mattress arrives in a cardboard box and is protected by two layers of heavy-duty plastic.

The company offers a 365-night sleep trial so you can test the mattress at home. If you decide to return your Silk & Snow mattress during the trial window, the company provides free pickup and a refund. However, the company asks that you wait 30 days before initiating a return. Returns come with free pickup service.
Silk & Snow mattresses are covered by a 15-year limited manufacturer’s warranty. It covers defects in workmanship and materials only, and not incidental damage that the mattress may receive.

Silk & Snow Organic Mattress Construction
S&S Organic’s medium-firm version stands 12″ tall and has 4 interior layers. The latex used is GOLS certified, and all other textile materials are OEKO-TEX® certified.
- Layer 1: S&S Organic’s top layer, located directly beneath the mattress cover, is roughly 1″ of natural wool. This adds a little extra plushness when you lie down on the mattress.
- Layer 2: The second layer is 1″ of latex foam. The latex is produced using the Dunlop method, ensuring its organic nature compared to synthetic blends. This layer is perforated to help circulate air and contribute to a cooler night’s rest, and adds responsiveness to the mattress.
- Layer 3: This layer uses 1.5″ of latex identical to the layer above, adding more cooling, air circulation, and responsiveness.
- Layer 4: The support layer uses 8.5″ individually wrapped and zoned pocketed coils. Soft coils are placed along the outer part of the mattress, while firmer coils in the central third of the mattress help keep your spine aligned.
The S&S Organic mattress cover is made from GOTS-certified organic cotton. The cover offers softness and breathability but can’t be removed for cleaning. Spills or stains must be spot-cleaned only.

Hybrid mattresses generally have above-average edge support, thanks to their supportive inner coils. S&S Organic’s medium-firm version’s deflection from a seated position was 4.1″, earning it an excellent 8.0/10 edge support score. You should notice very little sinkage when sitting on the edge of the bed.

The medium-firm version of S&S Organic earned a motion isolation score of 7.5/10. You’ll notice relatively little movement from the other side of the mattress when your partner changes sleep positions.

Bounce is a matter of personal preference. It measures how quickly a mattress bounces back to its original shape after pressure is applied. Hybrid mattresses with coils tend to be more bouncy and have a high response to pressure since they’re easy to switch positions and move around on.
S&S Organic’s medium-firm version scored 7.5/10 for bounce. This is a higher-than-average score, even for a hybrid mattress.
If you’re looking for a mattress with a little less bounce while still having a responsive sleep surface, you might prefer Logan & Cove Choice with its bounce score of 5.8/10.

Silk & Snow is a North American company specializing in bed and bath products for Canadian and American customers.
In 2017, the company ventured into the bed-in-a-box market after successfully completing a Kickstarter campaign. At that time, they introduced their initial memory foam mattress, the Original (later rebranded to the S&S Mattress). The company later expanded its product line to include two more mattresses and a line of bath products.
In early 2023, Silk & Snow was acquired by Sleep Country Canada. Silk & Snow mattresses are currently available only through the Silk & Snow website and their branded shops. However, Sleep Country carries some accessories from Silk & Snow.
