Product Details
S&S Hybrid has a 12″ profile with 3 layers of foam and coils. We tested the medium-firm version of the S&S Hybrid, which performed well for motion isolation and edge support.
Silk & Snow advertises that the mattress’s non-removable cover has antimicrobial properties. However, the law label on the mattress we purchased only lists polyester as a cover material. There is no other publicly available information that indicates how the cover has antimicrobial properties.
While polyester is known for its durability, it isn’t commonly known as a breathable fabric, so you may find that the mattress cover traps heat throughout the night. To get a cooling cover, you’ll have to upgrade to the plush version of S&S Hybrid for an extra $550. However, this pricey upgrade still doesn’t match cooling features found in other hybrids like Logan & Cove Choice.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Silk & Snow uses various courier services for mattress deliveries and offers free shipping to most Canadian customers (although remote areas may have additional fees). The mattress should arrive on your doorstep in 2–9 business days, including dispatch and delivery time.
The company offers a 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty, which is comparable to those of other mattress brands. Sleep trials are a popular perk among online mattress brands, allowing you to test the mattress at home before you commit to keeping it. If you decide to return your mattress within the trial period, you will need to fill out an online form for Silk & Snow to coordinate your return and refund.

Silk & Snow Mattress Construction
S&S Hybrid contains 3 mattress layers that work together to provide a balance of comfort and support. All layers are CertiPUR-US® certified, but the exact density of each foam layer is unknown.
- Layer 1: The comfort layer is 1″ of quilted cooling gel foam and holofibre fill, adding a touch of softness for a plush and refreshing feel.
- Layer 2: The transition layer is 2″ of high-density cooling gel-infused memory foam. This helps shape the overall feel and firmness of the mattress while providing pressure-point relief.
- Layer 3: With 8″ of double-tempered pocketed spring coils, the support layer provides extra support under the hips and shoulders. The foundation also offers a bit of bounce while limiting motion transfer.
The S&S Hybrid has a non-removable polyester cover, so it should be spot-cleaned in case of any spills or stains.
Although the cover is advertised to have antimicrobial properties, it’s not clear how polyester could do this. It’s possible the fibres were coated with an antimicrobial substance or woven with antimicrobial fibres, but there’s no information on the mattress’s law label or on Silk & Snow’s website to support this. If antimicrobial material is present, there’s likely only a small amount, or it would be listed on the label.
Looking for a similarly priced hybrid mattress with additional cooling features? You might like Logan & Cove.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.

6.8 /10
Firmness
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), S&S Hybrid had a deflection of 2.8″ when laid on, resulting in a 6.8/10 firmness score. This places the mattress on the firmer side of the “medium-firm” category, which is good for side, back, and stomach sleepers.

6.8 /10
Edge Support
S&S Hybrid features a thick foam encasement around the perimeter of the mattress. But despite this reinforcement, the latest version of the mattress had a deflection of 5.3″ from a seated position. This gives it a 6.8/10 score for edge support, an above-average score.
If edge support is important for you, you may prefer competing hybrid mattress Logan & Cove Choice, which has a greater edge support score of 7.5/10.
7.9 /10
Motion Isolation
Hybrid mattresses don’t usually offer great motion isolation because of their inner coils. However, S&S Hybrid bucks this trend with a score of 7.9/10. If you share your bed with a partner, you can expect to feel little to no movement when they toss and turn in the night.
3.9 /10
Bounce
Bounce is a matter of personal preference. It measures how quickly a mattress bounces back to its original shape after pressure is applied. Hybrid mattresses with coils tend to be more bouncy and have a high response to pressure since they’re easy to switch positions and move around on. S&S Hybrid scored a 3.9/10 for bounce, which is slightly below average for a hybrid mattress.
If you’re looking for a mattress with greater bounce and a more responsive sleep surface, you might prefer Logan & Cove Choice with its bounce score of 5.8/10.

1.8 /10
Cooling Features
S&S Hybrid isn’t generally considered a cooling mattress, but it does have a couple of advanced cooling features to help regulate temperature. This mattress earns points for its:
- Layers of gel-infused foam
- Layer of pocket coils, which provide some breathability
If having more cooling features in your mattress is a priority for you, consider Logan & Cove Choice instead, which has a higher cooling feature score of 4.4/10. Like Silk & Snow Hybrid, Choice’s construction includes a layer of cooling gel foam and airflow-promoting pocket coils. However, Logan & Cove Choice has additional advanced features like a quilted top cover that contains breathable hollow fibre, gel-infused foam, and cooling nanofibres.
