Product Details
Puffy Cloud is a 10″ memory foam mattress with a medium-firm feel. It has good edge support and motion isolation for an all-foam mattress, and its support foam is designed to promote spinal alignment and pressure-point relief. It also has a stain-resistant cover that’s engineered to be hypoallergenic, removable, and machine washable.
All foam used is CertiPUR-US® certified. However, Puffy Cloud’s gel foam layer is the mattress’s only heat management feature. With memory foam‘s reputation for heat trapping, you may find it difficult to sleep comfortably, especially if you’re a hot sleeper.
In comparison, competing mattress Octave Vista comes with advanced temperature balancing features like a cooling nanofibre mattress cover and antimicrobial copper-infused memory foam infused with phase-change material. Vista is also designed to provide pressure-point relief with its innovative multi-zoned support system, which relieves pain and aids in your body’s natural recovery. Octave Vista is more affordably priced than Puffy Cloud at just $899 for a queen size.
Ideal For: Back Sleepers, Side Sleepers, Stomach Sleepers

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Puffy uses FedEx to ship its mattresses for free throughout Canada. The company states a delivery timeline of 1–2 business days throughout their website. However, when we spoke with their online chat bot, it said that “it may take up to 5 business days for your order to be delivered, depending on your location.” This means Puffy’s shipping timeline is 5–7 business days, not 1–2 days as advertised.
The Puffy Cloud Mattress comes with a 101-night sleep trial. During that time, you can decide whether to keep the mattress or return it. The manufacturer requires you to wait at least 14 days before initiating a return.
Puffy offers a lifetime warranty for its mattresses. The warranty covers issues caused by manufacturing defects, including damage to the mattress cover. It also covers indentations or sagging greater than 1.5″ not caused by improper use or an improper bed foundation. (It’s worth noting that Puffy claims the mattress will work with any frame or surface, but still includes this clause in their warranty.)
Despite the lifetime warranty, numerous customer reviews complain that Puffy won’t honour warranty claims for the types of damage listed above. There are also complaints of issues with product delivery and customer service.
Octave offers a 365-night sleep trial so you can get to know your bed.

Puffy Mattress Construction
Puffy Cloud stands 10″ tall when unrolled and fully expanded. The mattress interior has 3 foam layers, all of which are CertiPUR-US® certified. Foam densities are unknown.
- Layer 1: The top (comfort) layer is 2″ of gel-infused foam. This layer conforms to your shape as you lie down, and contains cooling gel to transfer heat away from your body.
- Layer 2: The middle (transition) layer is 2″ of Climate Comfort foam. This layer helps cushion your body and prevents you from feeling too much of the support layer‘s density. Puffy doesn’t provide any further information about this type of foam or how it helps with temperature control, as the name suggests.
- Layer 3: The bottom (support) layer is 6″ of dense support foam. This foundational element gives the mattress most of its bulk, and stops you from sinking too deeply into it.
Puffy Cloud’s mattress cover is hypoallergenic, moisture resistant, and machine washable. It’s also made of polyester. This material isn’t naturally breathable and can trap heat. Considering the known heat-trapping properties of memory foam, you will likely experience overheating while you sleep.
Get the mattress with the moisture-wicking, machine-washable mattress cover.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.
5.9 /10
Firmness
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), the Puffy Cloud Mattress had a deflection of 2.9″ when laid on, resulting in a 5.9/10 firmness score.
This places it in the medium-firm category, which is in line with how Puffy markets this mattress. However, you may find that the Puffy Cloud Mattress feels a little softer than other medium-firm mattresses.
Looking for a medium-firm mattress with a firmer feel? Octave Vista scored 6.8/10 for firmness. It also provides zoned support for more balanced comfort.
7.0 /10
Edge Support
Puffy Cloud’s deflection from a seated position was 5.1″, giving it a 7.0/10 edge support score. This is a good score for a foam mattress. You should notice minimal sinking when you sit on the edge of the bed, and you shouldn’t fall off the mattress if you’re sleeping near the edge.
Need even greater edge support? Octave Vista scored 7.5/10, giving you even more comfort and support in every area of your mattress.
7.0 /10
Motion Isolation
Puffy Cloud scored 7.0/10 for motion isolation. Foam mattresses are known for good motion isolation, so this score isn’t unusual. You and your partner probably won’t notice each other’s movements as you sleep.
Get higher motion isolation with Octave Vista. With its motion isolation score of 7.3/10, Octave performs better than Puffy for an uninterrupted, rejuvenating night’s sleep.
4.7 /10
Bounce
Puffy Cloud scored 4.7/10 for bounce. This is slightly below average for an all-foam mattress. You should be able to change positions without much trouble. (If you prefer a mattress with less bounce, we think you’ll like Octave Vista and its lower bounce score of 3.7/10.)
1.0 /10
Cooling Features
The Puffy Cloud mattress is a memory foam mattress that advertises its mattress to have cooling features. This mattress earns points for its:
- Gel-infused foam which improves body heat dissipation and helps temperature regulation.
Puffy Cloud also has a foam layer called “Climate Comfort,” for which, despite what the name suggests, Puffy doesn’t specify what type of foam it is and how it may help with cooling. If you’re looking for a mattress with more cooling features, consider Octave Vista, available at just $899 for a queen size.

Company Background
Founded in 2016, Puffy is a Los Angeles-based mattress company founded by Arthur Andreasyan. The company sells the Puffy Cloud, Puffy Lux, and Puffy Royal mattresses. According to Puffy’s website, Puffy Lux is their most popular product.
It’s important to note that Puffy only seems to display five-star reviews on its website. This means that even though the site has thousands of reviews, there could be many more with fewer stars. You’ll need to check third-party review websites to get the full picture. Puffy is rated “A-” (unaccredited) with the Better Business Bureau and is rated “Average” on Trustpilot. Customers have reported problems with shipping, mattress quality, and warranty claims.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Puffy mattress good?
The Puffy Cloud Mattress performed well in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us) and demonstrated good edge support and motion isolation. However, this mattress lacks the advanced temperature balancing features that should come with a memory foam mattress. It’s also difficult to recommend buying from a company that’s rated only “Average” on Trustpilot.
We find more value in Octave Vista, priced at just $899 for a queen size. This mattress comes with advanced cooling features and an innovative five-zoned support system for targeted pressure-point relief, giving you a more satisfying sleep so you’re ready to face the day. Vista also comes with even better edge support and motion isolation, a longer 365-night sleep trial, and a free bedding bundle with your purchase.
How much is a Puffy mattress?
The Puffy Cloud Mattress has a price range of $1,649–$2,349, depending on the size you choose. It’s available in sizes ranging from twin to California king size. A queen-size Puffy mattress costs $2,049.
Where can I buy a Puffy mattress in Canada?
In Canada, Puffy offers its mattresses for sale through its online store. It may also be possible to find a Puffy mattress through a third-party mattress reseller.
Where can I try a Puffy mattress?
Puffy only sells its mattresses online. There are no stores where you can try a Puffy mattress before purchasing. Instead, you have a 101-night sleep trial to test out Puffy at home and decide whether it’s the best mattress for you.
Who owns Puffy Mattress?
Puffy Mattress is an independent, privately owned company. Arthur Andreasyan is the company’s founder and CEO.
Where are Puffy mattresses made?
Puffy manufactures all mattresses for its Canadian customers in Canada.
Can you flip a Puffy mattress?
No. Like most modern foam mattresses, Puffy mattresses aren’t designed to be flipped. The company says you can rotate the mattress every few months. This is good practice for extending the lifetime of your mattress.
Do Puffy mattresses have fiberglass?
To meet fire safety standards, Puffy uses a fire sock made from rayon and silica. That said, fiberglass is often made from silica-based glass. While the silica in Puffy’s mattresses is likely free of fiberglass, it’s always best to check the law label on any mattress before removing the cover.
Does the Puffy mattress come in a box?
Yes. All mattresses from Puffy are shipped to your door in a cardboard box. While Puffy is a comparatively light mattress, you may still need two people to carry it inside.
How firm is the Puffy mattress?
The Puffy Cloud scored 5.9/10 for firmness in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us). This translates to a medium-firm feel. However, you might find the feel a bit softer than other medium-firm mattresses.
How long does a Puffy mattress last?
Puffy has a lifetime warranty for its mattresses. This should mean that your mattress will either last as long as you own it, or can be replaced in case of any issues. However, customer reviews left on Trustpilot and Better Business Bureau complain of mattresses degrading within a few years of purchase.
What Puffy mattress alternatives should I consider?
