Product Details
Nolah Evolution 15 is a 7-layer hybrid mattress that stands 15″ tall. Designed for side sleepers, its plush Euro-top cover allows sleepers to sink into the top layer to provide pressure-point relief. This mattress’s zoned foam and coils help support your shoulders, hips, and knees.
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), the Firm version of Nolah Evolution 15 earned a firmness score that’s consistent with a medium-firm mattress. This is considerably softer than advertised. The mattress also tested well for edge support but earned only an average score for motion isolation.
Nolah Evolution 15 provides some cooling elements, such as ArcticTex™ fibres in the top cover. Although Nolah will not specify what this material is, they say it helps conduct heat away from sleepers to regulate temperature. Other cooling elements of the mattress feature the breathable mesh gusset and perforated foam. However, without any cooling gel foams or metal infusions, sleepers may find that the mattress’s memory foam layers retain heat.
A hybrid Euro-top mattress like Logan & Cove Frontier offers more features at a lower price. At just $1,299 for a queen size, Frontier has more advanced cooling features, a layer of micro coils for added responsiveness and pressure-point relief, and three-zoned support. You’ll also get a longer 365-night sleep trial and a free bedding bundle with your purchase.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Nolah is an American mattress brand that only sells within the USA through its website. However, Canadians can purchase a Nolah mattress through authorized retailers like Wayfair and Bed Bath and Beyond. We purchased our mattress for this review through Wayfair.
The shipping time for a Nolah mattress could vary depending on the mattress model you’re ordering and at what time. According to the Wayfair website, ground delivery takes 5–10 business days. When you factor dispatch time into this number, your Nolah mattress could take 6–16 business days to arrive at your doorstep.
Customers purchasing through the Nolah site receive a 120-night sleep trial and lifetime warranty. While the lifetime warranty carries over through Wayfair to Canadian customers, you’ll only have a 100-night sleep trial through Wayfair to try out your mattress at home. You must pay a return fee if you decide to return your mattress through either site. For Canadians, the fee is $49–$99 through Wayfair.
Although you’ll receive a lifetime warranty with your Nolah mattress, you should take care not to void it. Removing or staining the mattress cover, using an improper foundation, or exceeding the suggested weight limit can void your warranty. Your warranty can also be voided if you don’t unbox your mattress within 30 days. With potentially long shipping times, this may be a concern for some shoppers.
Nolah has low ratings on third-party review sites, with a “Poor” rating on Trustpilot and only 1.5/5 stars on Better Business Bureau. Common complaints on these sites mention shipping issues and difficulties getting the company to honour its warranty. Competitor brand Logan & Cove, in comparison, offers free returns and refunds. The company is rated “A+” on BBB and “Excellent” on Trustpilot.

Nolah Mattress Construction
Nolah Evolution 15 is a 15″ hybrid mattress made up of layers of foam and metal coils. This mattress uses CertiPUR-US® certified foams, and it uses silica in place of fiberglass to meet US fire regulations.
- Layer 1: The first layer of this mattress is 1″ of foam—one of two layers that makes up the mattress’s Euro-top. Both the Nolah and Wayfair websites say the mattress’s first layer is a single 2″ foam layer. However, when we inspected the layers, we found it was in fact two separate 1″ layers of the same foam material.
- Layer 2: This layer is the second 1″ layer of foam in the Euro-top. Nolah describes this foam as breathable and containing thermal-conductive quilting but doesn’t explain either material or function.
- Layer 3: Nolah’s third foam layer is made of the company’s AirFoam™. This 1″ layer of high-density foam is meant to provide pressure-point relief and has perforations to promote airflow.
- Layer 4: This layer is the mattress’s first transition layer. Transition layers help you from feeling the springs below you. This 2″ CoreComfort Foam layer is described as resilient foam, although it’s unclear what makes it more resilient than regular poly foam.
- Layer 5: The mattress’s second transition layer is 1″ of EverAdapt foam, which the company describes as being bouncier to help with responsiveness. It’s not clear what this foam is made of or how it’s bouncier than poly foam.
- Layer 6: The bulk of Nolah Evolution’s height and support is made up of 8″ of individually pocketed zoned support coils. These coils in the middle of the mattress and around the perimeter are thicker to offer greater support, while thinner coils in the top and bottom sections of the mattress help cushion your shoulders and knees.
- Layer 7: A final 1″ layer of foam gives the metal coils a stable base to rest on.
The mattress cover is made from organic cotton and unspecified ArcticTex™ fibres, which are described as having high thermal conductivity to draw heat away from the body. When we asked a Nolah customer representative to explain what the fibres were, they wouldn’t share the information with us.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.
5.9 /10
Firmness
When tested for firmness by third-party engineers, Nolah Evolution 15 Firm received a score of 5.9/10, placing it in the medium-firm category. It received this score as a result of its 3.8″ displacement.
If you’re hoping to purchase a firmer mattress, you may be disappointed by Nolah’s softer profile. On the other hand, some sleepers said the most plush version of this mattress was too firm for side sleeping and caused pressure points—even though the mattress was designed specifically for side sleepers.
8.3 /10
Edge Support
Nolah Evolution 15 uses reinforced steel coils around the perimeter of the mattress to provide strong edge support. This likely contributes to the mattress’s 3.9″ deflection, giving the mattress an excellent edge support score of 8.3/10. You should be able to sit on the edge of the mattress or sleep farther away from the middle without worrying about falling off.
5.7 /10
Motion Isolation
Hybrid mattresses use a blend of foams and individually pocketed coils to help stop motion transfer from one side of the bed to the other. Despite having both of these features, Nolah Evolution 15 scored 5.7/10 for motion isolation. This score is about average for a hybrid. While you may not notice smaller movements, you could be woken up by your partner getting into or out of bed.
(Is undisturbed sleep important to you? Logan & Cove Frontier earned a motion isolation score of 7.0/10 and can help you sleep through the night.)
5.6 /10
Bounce
Hybrid mattresses tend to be bouncier and “springier” than all-foam ones. Nolah Evolution 15 earned a bounce score of 5.6/10, which is slightly above average for a hybrid. You shouldn’t have any difficulty changing positions on this mattress or getting up in the morning.
(Looking for a mattress with a little less bounce? Try Logan & Cove Frontier, which received a bounce score of 4.8/10.)
3.6 /10
Cooling Features
The Nolah Evolution 15 mattress has multiple features that are meant to provide cooling benefits, like the AirBreath™ gusset and ArcticTex™ fibres. The company doesn’t always make it clear what these technologies are or do. Still, this mattress earned points for its:
- Breathable organic cotton material in the top cover
- ArcticTex™ thermal conductive fibers in the top cover
- Perforated foam layer to allow excess heat to escape
- Individually pocketed coils that promote airflow
Looking for a mattress with more advanced cooling features? Logan & Cove Frontier has a Euro-top cover with cooling gel foam, breathable hollow fibre fill, and cool-to-the-touch nanofibres. Its internal layers include more gel foam, breathable open-cell foam, and layers of micro and individually pocketed coils that promote air circulation. Frontier is also less than half the price of Nolah at just $1,299 for a queen size.

Company Background
Nolah is an American brand founded in 2016 by Daniel Galle and Anna Hjollund. Specializing in mattresses for side sleepers, the company has launched various mattress types and models using its proprietary materials, from all-natural to all-foam constructions.
In 2023, Nolah was acquired by 3Z Brands—the parent company of other direct-to-consumer mattress brands like Brooklyn Bedding, Bear, and Leesa. 3Z Brands began in 1995 when CEO John Merwin and his brother started the business as mattress liquidators. Brooklyn Bedding was eventually formed and merged with Helix Sleep in 2021, leading to the full portfolio of mattress brands under the 3Z umbrella. Although each 3Z brand is known for having its own unique offering, all mattresses are made in the same Arizona factory.
Nolah is rated “Poor” on Trustpilot with just 4 reviews at the time of writing. The brand is rated “A” (unaccredited) on BBB, but it has a customer review rating of just 1.5/5 stars. Complaints on these sites mention issues with shipping and warranty claims.
Buy from a mattress company that’s rated “A+” on BBB and “Excellent” on Trustpilot.
