Ghostbed claims that its mattresses will expand to their normal size as soon as they’re unpacked. However, GhostBed’s warranty states that the company’s mattresses may take 24–48 hours to fully expand, and “may not recover to 100% of their total height.”

Although GhostBed used to manufacture mattresses that used fiberglass, none of the company’s mattresses sold in Canada currently use fiberglass in their construction. It’s always a good idea to check your mattress’s law label before attempting to remove its cover.

GhostBed lets customers return their mattresses after the first 30 nights of the 101-night sleep trial. Returns may be initiated on the company’s website. If you cancel or return an order, a restocking fee plus return freight will be deducted from your refund. Restocking fees are not specified on the company’s Canadian website.

However, the company has received negative press for its return policy and customer service, in contrast to its claim of “hassle-free returns.” The company may also require you to pay back any discount you received on your mattress. This could mean you not only don’t get a refund, but could end up owing money to return the mattress.

GhostBed mattresses are well constructed and have a longer-than-average warranty, but lack features that might add to their long-term value. They’re also much more expensive than comparable mattresses that offer more features for a lower price. For example, a queen-size GhostBed Luxe costs $3,595, while cooling mattress Octave Horizon has more advanced features and costs just $1,499 for a queen size.

In addition, GhostBed’s 101-night sleep trial is only slightly above the industry average. The company has also received negative customer reviews and press coverage about issues with GhostBed’s customer service.
