Product Details
We tested the medium-firm version of the Endy foam mattress for this review, which is a 3-layer foam mattress that stands 10″ tall. According to tests run by third-party engineers (commissioned by us), the medium-firm Endy foam mattress is on the lower end of the medium-firm category. It has very good edge support and motion isolation.
Endy describes the top cover of this mattress as breathable. However, the cover is made of 97% polyester and 3% spandex—materials not typically known for their breathability—so it’s unclear what aspects of the cover would contribute to this effect. And while the mattress contains open-cell comfort foam, which helps promote a certain amount of airflow, the mattress lacks further cooling features.
Looking for a slightly firmer mattress with more cooling features for a lower price? You may want to try Douglas Original. Douglas has a moisture-wicking cover infused with plant-based Infinitex™ fibres, a layer of ecoLight® cooling gel foam, and a layer of open-cell Elastex® foam. It also comes with a 365-night sleep trial, a longer 20-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle—all for $799 for a queen size.
Ideal For: Back Sleepers, Side Sleepers, Stomach Sleepers

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Endy ships by ground directly to your front door using FedEx. However, if you live in a multi-unit building, they’ll only deliver to the lobby. Endy ships free throughout most of Canada. Additional fees may apply for shipping to territory capitals only. The order ships from Ontario or British Columbia and should arrive at your doorstep in 1–10 business days, including dispatch and delivery time.
The mattress arrives in a bleached cardboard box and is protected by two layers of heavy-duty plastic. After it’s unrolled, the mattress fully expands within three minutes and is ready to sleep on the same day it’s delivered.

Endy offers a 100-night sleep trial, which is average for the mattress industry. The company will arrange to pick up returns for free within the sleep trial period. You’ll receive a full refund, and your mattress will be either donated to a charity or recycled.
Endy comes with a 10-year warranty, which is the industry standard. If you register as an Endy VIP member and agree to receive email marketing messages from the company, you can extend your warranty by another 5 years. This is an unusual practice that we haven’t seen with other mattress companies.
Choose Douglas and get a 365-night sleep trial and a 20-year warranty.

Endy Mattress Construction
The Canadian-made Endy mattress has 3 foam layers, all 100% polyurethane. The mattress layers are CertiPUR-US® certified. Endy doesn’t publicly share any composition or density details about Endy Comfort Foam, other than saying it’s 100% polyurethane.
- Layer 1: The 2″ comfort layer is made of Endy Comfort Foam, which provides a plush feel to the mattress. Endy also mentions that the foam’s open-cell design improves airflow and keeps you cool while you sleep.
- Layer 2: The 3″ transition layer of foam helps provide pressure relief for a more comfortable, tension-free sleep.
- Layer 3: The 5″ support layer is designed to reduce motion transfer. This is important if you’re a light sleeper and your partner tosses and turns in their sleep.
The machine-washable mattress cover is two-toned, blending heavy-duty grey fabric at the bottom with a white, diamond-knit pattern on top.
Endy mentions that the cover is “breathable.” However, it is made of 97% polyester and 3% Spandex. While spandex is a stretchy material that offers a four-way stretch, and polyester is known for its durability, both of these materials aren’t the most breathable. Besides an open-cell foam layer, The Endy comes with limited cooling features to offset any heat-trapping qualities of an all-foam mattress.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.
5.7 /10
Firmness
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), The Endy scored a 5.7/10 for firmness. This is on the softer side of medium-firm. It should keep your spine aligned and your body comfortable in most sleeping positions. However, depending on your needs, you may find you need a little more support if you sleep on your stomach or back.
(Want a mattress with less hug and a slightly firmer feel? We recommend Douglas Original with its firmness score of 6.7/10.)

7.3 /10
Edge Support
The Endy earned an edge support score of 7.3/10. This is an very good score for a foam mattress. You shouldn’t have any difficulty staying on the bed when you sit on the edge or lie farther away from the middle.
(Need even more edge support? Consider Douglas Original with its higher edge support score of 7.8/10.)
7.4 /10
Motion Isolation
Foam mattresses are good for motion isolation, and Endy is no exception with a score of 7.4/10. This is a very good score for a foam mattress. The foam layers will help absorb movement, so you’re less likely to notice a restless partner on the other side of the bed.
(If you’re looking for a mattress with even better motion isolation, consider Douglas Original with its higher score of 8.3/10.)
5.5 /10
Bounce
Bounce is a matter of personal preference. It measures how quickly a mattress bounces back to its original shape after pressure is applied. Foam mattresses tend to offer a slower response time, translating to a lower bounce score, allowing for a smoother sleep with fewer disruptions, which is ideal for light sleepers. Hybrid mattresses with coils tend to be more bouncy and have a high response to pressure since they’re easy to switch positions and move around on.
Endy scored a 5.5/10 for bounce, which is above-average for a foam mattress.
(Looking for a mattress with less bounce for a more undisturbed sleep? Consider Douglas Original, which has a lower bounce rating of 3.1/10—ideal if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken.)

Cooling Features
While The Endy isn’t advertised as a cooling mattress, it does have a couple of cooling features. This mattress earns points for its:
- Spandex in the top cover, which is known to be a moisture-wicking fabric
- Layer of open-cell foam, which promotes airflow and breathability
Endy mentions that the mattress’s top cover is breathable. However, according to its website, their cover is composed of 3% spandex and 97% polyester. Neither material is particularly known for being breathable, so it is not clear how the cover may provide any breathable properties.
If having more cooling features in your mattress is a priority for you, consider Douglas Original. Douglas’ cooling cover, infused with plant-based Infinitex™ fibres, is composed of a blend of polyester, Tencel, and spandex. Tencel is a very breathable fabric, and both Tencel and spandex have moisture-wicking qualities. It is also designed with a layer of open-cell Elastex® foam, and a layer of cooling gel foam to dissipate heat and regulate temperature.
All of these cooling features come at a lower price of $799 for a queen size (compared to $895 for The Endy).

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Endy mattresses good?
The medium-firm version of The Endy performed well in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us). The mattress is also priced accessibly. However, the 100-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty are only average, and the mattress doesn’t come with many cooling features.
If you’re looking for a mattress with a more generous sleep trial, longer warranty, and a higher number of advanced cooling features, consider Douglas Original instead. Douglas comes with a free bedding bundle and a lower price tag of $799 for a queen size.
Is the Endy cover machine washable?
Yes. The machine-washable top cover has a zipper for easy removal. Wash the cover on a gentle cycle, then tumble dry or air dry on low heat. When the cover is dry, it can be quickly reattached.
What does the Endy warranty cover?
The standard 10-year Endy mattress warranty covers one-time repair or replacement due to manufacturer errors. You can extend your warranty another 5 years by registering as an Endy VIP member online at no additional cost. This involves signing up for the company’s email list.
Does the Endy mattress contain memory foam?
No, there’s no memory foam in the Endy mattress. It’s made with Endy Comfort Foam, which uses open-air cell technology. Endy says this foam is better at controlling body heat than traditional memory foam.
Where is the Endy mattress made?
The Endy mattress is made in Canada. Mattresses are made at facilities in Ontario and Quebec, then shipped from distribution centres in Ontario and Alberta.
Does the Endy mattress need a special frame?
Endy recommends using a traditional box spring or adding a slatted base to your current bed frame. Both options will support the mattress and let it breathe.
How much does the Endy mattress cost?
The Endy medium-firm and firm mattress models cost between $675–$995, depending on which mattress size you choose. The Endy queen mattress is available for $895. The plush model costs an additional $200.
Where can you buy an Endy mattress?
Endy mattresses are available for purchase online on their website, and also in-store at any of their locations.
How long do Endy mattresses last?
Typically, a mattress should last as long as its warranty period. Endy’s standard warranty is 10 years, but can be extended to 15 if you sign up for their email list. You could find the mattress has a similar lifespan.
READ MORE: How long should a mattress last?
Can you put an Endy mattress on the floor?
No, you shouldn’t put your Endy mattress on the floor. This would be considered an improper foundation and would void the warranty.
Can you put an Endy mattress back in the box?
Once you have unboxed your mattress and it has fully expanded, you can’t put it back in the box. Endy mattresses (like most bed-in-a-box products) are compressed and vacuum-sealed using a significant amount of pressure and industrial-grade machinery. Once the mattress expands, it can’t be compressed back to its original size without specialized equipment.
What Endy mattress alternatives should I consider?
Douglas Original is a good Canadian-made Endy alternative. This medium-firm all-foam mattress is ideal for all sleep styles. Douglas has more cooling features, earned top scores for edge support and motion isolation, comes with a free bedding bundle with every purchase, and has a more extended warranty and sleep trial, all for $799 for a queen size, compared to $895 for an Endy.
