Our Rankings
Edge support and motion isolation are factored into our overall mattress ratings. These scores are shown in green (scores of 5.0+), yellow (3.0–4.9), or red (2.9 and below). Firmness, bounce, and cooling features are a matter of personal preference and aren’t part of our rating system, so these scores are shown in grey.

Product Details
The medium-firm Endy foam mattress is a 3-layer foam mattress that stands 10″ tall. (The plush version also has the same layer composition, but the thicker layers add an inch to the mattress’s height, whereas the firm version has thinner layers, resulting in a shorter mattress.) According to tests run by third-party engineers (commissioned by us), the medium-firm Endy foam mattress is on the lower end of the medium-firm category. It has very good edge support and motion isolation.
Endy claims that its top cover is breathable. However, according to Endy’s website, this cover is 97% polyester, which is not known to the most breathable material. And while the mattress contains open-cell comfort foam, which helps promote a certain amount of airflow, the mattress lacks further cooling features. This can be a concern since foam can trap heat, which could lead to potential overheating. This is why many modern mattress brands include more cooling features in all-foam mattresses.
Looking for a slightly firmer mattress with more cooling features for a lower price? You may want to try Douglas Original. Douglas has a moisture-wicking cover infused with plant-based Infinitex™ fibres, a layer of ecoLight® cooling gel foam, and a layer of open-cell Elastex® foam. It also comes with a 365-night sleep trial, a longer 20-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle—all for $799 for a queen size.
Ideal For: Back Sleepers, Side Sleepers, Stomach Sleepers

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Endy ships by ground directly to your front door using FedEx. However, if you live in a multi-unit building, they’ll only deliver to the lobby. Endy ships free throughout most of Canada. Additional fees may apply for shipping to territory capitals only. The order ships from Ontario or British Columbia and should arrive at your doorstep in 1–10 business days, including dispatch and delivery time.
The mattress arrives in a bleached cardboard box and is protected by two layers of heavy-duty plastic. After it’s unrolled, the mattress fully expands within three minutes and is ready to sleep on the same day it’s delivered.
Endy offers a 100-night sleep trial, which is average for the mattress industry. The company will arrange to pick up returns for free within the sleep trial period. You’ll receive a full refund, and your mattress will be either donated to a charity or recycled.
Endy comes with a 10-year warranty, which is the industry standard. If you register as an Endy VIP member and agree to receive email marketing messages from the company, you can extend your warranty by another 5 years. This is an unusual practice that we haven’t seen with other mattress companies.
Choose Douglas and get a 365-night sleep trial and a 20-year warranty.

Endy Mattress Construction
The Canadian-made Endy mattress has 3 foam layers, all 100% polyurethane. The mattress layers are CertiPUR-US® certified. Endy doesn’t publicly share any composition or density details about Endy Comfort Foam, other than saying it’s 100% polyurethane.
- Layer 1: The 2″ comfort layer is made of Endy Comfort Foam, which provides some “hug” with a fair bit of sink. Endy also claims that the foam’s open-cell design improves airflow and keeps you cool while you sleep.
- Layer 2: The 3″ transition layer of foam helps provide pressure relief for a more comfortable, tension-free sleep.
- Layer 3: The 5″ support layer is designed to reduce motion transfer. This is important if you’re a light sleeper and your partner tosses and turns in their sleep.
The machine-washable mattress cover is two-toned, blending heavy-duty grey fabric at the bottom with a white, diamond-knit pattern on top. The upper portion, which Endy claims to be “breathable,” is made of 97% polyester and 3% Spandex for a four-way stretch. Polyester isn’t the most breathable material, so you may experience some heat retention.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.
5.7 /10
Firmness
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), The Endy scored a 5.7/10 for firmness. This is on the softer side of medium-firm. It should keep your spine aligned and your body comfortable in most sleeping positions. However, it’s possible you may find it slightly too soft for your needs, especially if you are a back or stomach sleeper.
(Want a mattress with less hug and a slightly firmer feel? We recommend Douglas Original with its firmness score of 6.7/10.)

7.3 /10
Edge Support
The Endy earned an edge support score of 7.3/10. This is an above-average score for a foam mattress. You shouldn’t have any difficulty staying on the bed when you sit on the edge or lie farther away from the middle.
(Need even more edge support? Consider Douglas Original with its higher edge support score of 7.8/10.)
7.4 /10
Motion Isolation
Foam mattresses are good for motion isolation, and Endy is no exception with a score of 7.4/10. This is an above-average score for a foam mattress. The foam layers will help absorb movement, so you’re less likely to notice a restless partner on the other side of the bed.
(If you’re looking for a mattress with even better motion isolation, consider Douglas Original with its higher score of 8.3/10.)
5.5 /10
Bounce
Foam mattresses typically have less bounce compared to mattresses with coils. Endy scored a 5.5/10 for bounce, which is about average for a foam mattress. While bounce is a personal preference, lower bounce allows for a smoother sleep with fewer disruptions, which is ideal for light sleepers.
(Looking for a mattress with less bounce for a more undisturbed sleep? Consider Douglas Original, which has a lower bounce rating of 3.1/10—ideal if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken.)

Cooling Features
While The Endy isn’t advertised as a cooling mattress, it does have a couple of cooling features. This mattress earns points for its:
- Spandex in the top cover, which is known to be a breathable, moisture-wicking fabric
- Layer of open-cell foam infused with cooling gel, which promotes airflow and breathability
Endy claims that the mattress’s top cover is breathable due to the presence of spandex. However, this material only makes up 3% of the cover. The remaining 97% of the cover is made of polyester, which is not a breathable material. It’s hard to say how much cooling you might notice with this mattress as a result.
If you’re looking for a foam mattress with more advanced cooling features, consider Douglas Original. It’s designed with a moisture-wicking cover infused with plant-based Infinitex™ fibres, a layer of open-cell Elastex® foam, and a layer of cooling gel foam. All of these cooling features come at a lower price of $799 for a queen size (compared to $895 for The Endy).

Company Background
Endy is a Toronto-based sleep company well-known as a mattress-in-a-box brand. The Endy mattress quickly gained popularity in Canada and became one of the most recognized mattress brands, competing with other popular brands like Douglas and Casper.
After selling its mattresses for three years, Endy was acquired by Sleep Country Canada Holdings Inc. in 2018. The company continues to primarily sell their mattresses online as an independent subsidiary. They have also opened some stores in Halifax (Nova Scotia), Etobicoke (Ontario), and Edmonton (Alberta).
In addition to their original foam mattress, Endy also sells the Endy Hybrid mattress and a range of bedding accessories and living room furniture. Even with these new offerings, the Endy foam mattress remains their most well-known product.
Endy is rated “A+” with the Better Business Bureau. However, their customer review rating is just 1/5 stars. The company is also rated just “Poor” on Trustpilot with a 3.3/5 customer review rating based on 8 reviews, of which 44% are 1-star reviews.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Endy mattresses good?
The medium-firm version of The Endy performed well in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us). The mattress is also priced accessibly. However, the 100-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty are only average, and the mattress doesn’t come with advanced cooling features for a more comfortable sleep.
If you’re looking for a mattress with a more generous sleep trial, longer warranty, and more advanced cooling features, consider Douglas Original instead. Douglas comes with a free bedding bundle and a lower price tag of $799 for a queen size.
Is the Endy cover machine washable?
Yes. The machine-washable top cover has a zipper for easy removal. Wash the cover on a gentle cycle, then tumble dry or air dry on low heat. When the cover is dry, it can be quickly reattached.
What does the Endy warranty cover?
The standard 10-year Endy mattress warranty covers one-time repair or replacement due to manufacturer errors. You can extend your warranty another 5 years by registering as an Endy VIP member online at no additional cost. This involves signing up for the company’s email list.
Does the Endy mattress contain memory foam?
No, there’s no memory foam in the Endy mattress. It’s made with Endy Comfort Foam, which uses open-air cell technology. Endy claims this foam is better at controlling body heat than traditional memory foam.
Where is the Endy mattress made?
The Endy mattress is made in Canada. Mattresses are made at facilities in Ontario and Quebec, then shipped from distribution centres in Ontario and Alberta.
Does the Endy mattress need a special frame?
Endy recommends using a traditional box spring or adding a slatted base to your current bed frame. Both options will support the mattress and let it breathe.
How much does the Endy mattress cost?
The Endy medium-firm and firm mattress models cost between $675–$995, depending on which mattress size you choose. The Endy queen mattress is available for $895. The plush model costs an additional $200.
Where can you buy an Endy mattress?
Endy mattresses are available for purchase online on their website, and also in-store at any of their locations.
How long do Endy mattresses last?
Typically, a mattress should last as long as its warranty period. Endy’s standard warranty is 10 years, but can be extended to 15 if you sign up for their email list. You could find the mattress has a similar lifespan.

Can you put an Endy mattress on the floor?
No, you shouldn’t put your Endy mattress on the floor. This would be considered an improper foundation and would void the warranty.
Can you put an Endy mattress back in the box?
Once you have unboxed your mattress and it has fully expanded, you can’t put it back in the box. Endy mattresses (like most bed-in-a-box products) are compressed and vacuum-sealed using a significant amount of pressure and industrial-grade machinery. Once the mattress expands, it can’t be compressed back to its original size without specialized equipment.
What Endy mattress alternatives should I consider?
Douglas Original is a good Canadian-made Endy alternative. This medium-firm all-foam mattress is ideal for all sleep styles. Douglas has more advanced cooling features, earned top scores for edge support and motion isolation, and has a more extended warranty and sleep trial, all for $799 for a queen size, compared to $895 for an Endy.
