Product Details
Dreamstar Hilton stands 13″ tall and has 4 layers, including foam and pocketed coil layers. This mattress has a medium-firm feel, making it suitable for most sleep styles. It performed well in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us) with above-average edge support and motion isolation. However, many customer reviews mention issues with product quality and customer service.
The brand advertises the mattress as having a breathable bamboo and cotton top cover. However, the law label states that the cover material is 100% polyester, which isn’t known for being breathable. If this mattress cover contains bamboo and cotton, the materials account for less than 1% of its total composition. As a result, you may notice heat trapping and experience overheating at night.
Dreamstar offers a 10-year warranty, which is standard for the mattress industry. However, the manufacturer doesn’t provide a sleep trial, which is unusual. The mattress that we purchased from Mattresses of Muskoka comes with a 30-day return policy, but this is exchange only. It also isn’t clear whether the company charges a return/exchange fee. Policies will vary depending on which retailer you buy the mattress from.
These policies may be less appealing than the risk-free sleep trial that comes with competing mattresses like Logan & Cove Choice. Logan & Cove gives you a 365-night trial period to test out the mattress at home. If you decide to return the mattress, the company provides free return pickup with a full refund during the sleep trial period. Logan & Cove also comes with a notably longer 15-year warranty.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Dreamstar sells its mattresses directly on its website and through various online retailers. We purchased our mattress from Mattresses of Muskoka, an Ontario-based mattress retail site. Mattresses of Muskoka drop-ships mattresses from Dreamstar’s manufacturing facility. They also have their own delivery trucks, which they use to deliver the mattress to your doorstep.
Mattresses of Muskoka doesn’t provide a delivery estimate for your mattress order. We received our mattress 4 business days after placing the order. There is a shipping fee of $100 to most locations in Canada, and additional charges may apply for remote delivery. If you purchase a mattress directly from Dreamstar, they will ship it for free in 3–9 business days business days. Express delivery (in 1–2 business days) is an additional $40.
If you purchase the mattress through Dreamstar’s website, you won’t have the option to return it for a refund or exchange it for a different bed. This is a concern since Dreamstar customers on review sites have expressed issues with sagging, mattress quality, and customer service issues. (When you purchase the mattress from Mattresses of Muskoka, you have a 30-day exchange period to decide whether you want to keep the mattress. It’s not clear whether return, exchange, or replacement shipping fees will apply.)
Dreamstar mattresses come with varying warranty policies, depending on the warranty code on the law label. Dreamstar Hilton has “Code 2” on its law label, meaning it comes with an industry-standard 10-year warranty. You’ll have to contact Dreamstar to initiate a warranty claim. It’s worth noting that according to reviews on Facebook and review sites such as Goodbed, frustrated customers have complained of difficulties with warranty claims with Dreamstar.
In comparison, competitor mattress Logan & Cove Choice comes with a risk-free 365-night sleep trial, a longer 15-year warranty, and the option for a full refund with free return pickup. The company is rated “A+” on Better Business Bureau and “Excellent” on Trustpilot, due in part to responsive customer service. Logan & Cove also has 4,500+ five-star reviews from verified customers on their website.

Dreamstar Mattress Construction
Dreamstar Hilton is a hybrid mattress. It stands 13″ tall, has 4 layers, and has a Euro-top design. All foam used is CertiPUR-US® certified. However, Dreamstar doesn’t disclose the densities of the specific foams used.
- Layer 1: The top layer is 1″ of cooling gel memory foam. This comfort layer helps dissipate excess body heat.
- Layer 2: The second layer is 1.5″ of Spinal Support Bio Foam. This high-density foam layer prevents you from sinking too deeply into the mattress.
- Layer 3: The next layer is 8.5″ of individually wrapped pocketed steel coils. This layers provides lumbar support, as well as a fair amount of bounce.
- Layer 4: The last layer is 1.5″ of support foam that acts as a barrier between the coil layer and the bottom of the mattress cover.
Hollow-fibre batting accounts for the final 0.5″ of this mattress’s total height. The cover isn’t removable or machine washable, so it should be spot-cleaned only.
According to our research, retailers selling this mattress state that the cover is made of bamboo-infused cotton. However, the mattress’s law label states that the cover is “100% polyester.” This means that if bamboo and cotton are present in the top cover, it amounts to less than 1% of the mattress’s total composition.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.

6.5 /10
Firmness
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Dreamstar scored 6.5/10 for firmness. This places the mattress in the medium-firm category, which makes it suitable for all sleep styles.
(Looking for a slightly firmer mattress? Logan & Cove Choice earned a firmness score of 6.9/10, providing a touch more support in the areas you need it most.)

7.0 /10
Edge Support
Dreamstar scored 7.0/10 for edge support. This is an above-average score and is likely due to the mattress’s reinforced sidewalls, as well as the extra support provided by its pocketed coils. You can sit on the edge of this mattress or sleep farther away from the middle without sinking too far down.
(Get even more edge support when you pick Logan & Cove Choice with its edge support score of 7.5/10.)
6.6 /10
Motion Isolation
Dreamstar scored 6.6/10 for motion isolation. This is an above-average score for any mattress. You shouldn’t notice most of your partner’s movements when they change sleep positions. However, you might notice movements that are larger, or closer to your body.
(Need an undisturbed sleep? Consider Logan & Cove Choice with its higher motion isolation score of 7.5/10.)
6.9 /10
Bounce
Dreamstar scored 6.9/10 for bounce. This is a fairly high score, even for a hybrid mattress. This mattress will definitely help you spring to your feet when you get up in the morning, but you might find it too bouncy to sleep comfortably.
(Want a mattress with a more consistent surface for a more restful sleep? Logan & Cove Choice has a lower bounce score of 5.8/10.)

3.7 /10
Cooling Features
Dreamstar isn’t marketed as a cooling mattress, but it still has a few noteworthy features to help you sleep cool at night. This mattress earns points for its:
- Breathable top cover, which Dreamstar says is a bamboo-infused cotton fabric
- Hollow-fibre fill under the quilted top cover with temperate-regulating properties
- Gel-infused foam that encourages enhanced cooling, according to retailers who claim it’s included in the mattress’s construction (which we could not verify)
- Pocketed coils that naturally provide good air circulation
We found that online retailers selling Dreamstar Hilton mattresses stated that the cover is made of a bamboo-infused cotton fabric. However, the law label of the mattress we received states that the cover is made of 100% polyester. If this cover contains bamboo and cotton, it’s less than 1% of the cover material’s composition.
If you’re looking for a mattress that sleeps cooler, consider Logan & Cove Choice instead. It’s designed with layers of cooling gel foam and breathable pocket coils, as well as a top cover with breathable hollow-fibre fill, more gel-infused foam, and cooling nanofibres.
