Product Details
DreamCloud Premier is a 14″ hybrid mattress with a firm feel, and is the mid-level offering in DreamCloud’s product line. It has good edge support and motion isolation, but has relatively few cooling features for a hybrid mattress.
Unlike The DreamCloud, the entry-level hybrid mattress in the DreamCloud line, Premier contains no cooling gel foam. Instead, it uses regular memory foam, which is known to trap heat. DreamCloud claims that Premier’s cashmere Euro-top cover helps increase breathability and regulates temperatures, but this material makes up just 0.5% of the top cover.
The cover isn’t removable or machine washable and should be spot-cleaned only. Removing the mattress cover will void the warranty.
Some reviews on the DreamCloud website mention the mattress feeling too firm or too hot. If you sleep on your side at all, you’ll need a mattress that’s ideal for all sleeping styles, like Logan & Cove Frontier. Its medium-firm feel adapts well to all bodies, while also offering advanced cooling features for a comfortable sleep.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
DreamCloud offers free shipping through FedEx to most areas in Canada. Shipping to remote locations like the Northwest Territories and Yukon adds a $150 shipping fee. The company doesn’t deliver to Nunavut.
The DreamCloud mattress we purchased arrived in 3 business days, but some mattress models and sizes have shipping estimates of up to 14 days. This doesn’t include delivery time, which the company states is an additional 2–5 business days.
DreamCloud Premier arrives in a cardboard box, compressed and wrapped in plastic. The mattress that we purchased was manufactured an entire year before we ordered it. That’s a year of the mattress’s lifetime sitting compressed in its box, which can greatly affect its performance and comfort.
Upon receiving the mattress, you have a 365-night trial to test out your DreamCloud mattress at home. If the mattress doesn’t work for your needs, you can return it for a full refund or exchange. The company also provides free return pickup service and will arrange for your mattress to be locally donated or disposed of.
DreamCloud offers a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the mattress. The warranty covers any manufacturing defects but will be voided if you remove the mattress cover.
DreamCloud Premier Mattress Construction
The DreamCloud Premier mattress stands 14″ tall, and contains 5 layers.
- Layer 1: Premier’s first comfort layer is 1″ of memory foam quilted into the Euro-top cover.
- Layer 2: The second comfort layer quilted into the Euro-top cover is 1″ of unspecified “plush soft foam.”
- Layer 3: This layer is 2.5″ of polyurethane foam. The foam is convoluted, meaning it has an egg-carton shape for breathability. This layer helps to disperse heat and prevent sleepers from feeling the mattress’s spring layer.
- Layer 4: The support layer is made of 8.5″ individually pocketed steel coils, with thicker coils around the perimeter for increased edge support.
- Layer 5: The bottom layer is 1″ of poly foam, which is used as a base layer for the coils, and to insulate them when the mattress is on a foundation.
DreamCloud Premier’s mattress cover is 94.5% polyester, 5% rayon, and 0.5% cashmere. While cashmere is known for having some temperature-regulating properties, it’s unclear if such a small amount of the material would truly help sleepers stay cool throughout the night. Polyester also isn’t known for being breathable, and can trap heat.
DreamCloud’s website also states that the Premier mattress contains “3X more cashmere than the DreamCloud.” However, the last time we purchased the entry-level DreamCloud, its cover was made of 1% cashmere. This suggests that DreamCloud may have lowered the amount of cashmere in all of their mattress covers. This could also imply that the amount of cashmere in The DreamCloud’s cover is now just 0.16%.
Considering the very small amount of cashmere used in the top cover, the use of memory foam (which is known to trap heat), and the lack of any other cooling technologies, DreamCloud Premier may be too warm for you to sleep on comfortably.

In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), DreamCloud Premier’s deflection while lying down was only 2″, contributing to its firmness score of 7.5/10.
This places the mattress in the “firm” category, and is firmer than the 6.5/10 score advertised on DreamCloud’s website. This mattress should be suitable if you sleep on your stomach or back, but could be uncomfortable if you’re a side or combination sleeper.

DreamCloud Premier has a seated deflection of 5″, giving it an edge support score of 7.3/10. This is a very good score for a hybrid mattress. You should be able to sit on the edge or sleep farther away from the middle of the mattress without sinking too far into the sidewalls.

DreamCloud Premier earned a very good motion isolation score of 7.6/10. You should be able to sleep without noticing most movements from your partner or pet on the other side of the bed.

Bounce
Hybrid mattresses tend to be bouncier than their all-foam counterparts. DreamCloud Premier received a bounce score of 5.2/10, which is about average for a hybrid mattress. Although it may mean more motion transfer from the other side of the bed, this bounce level also means it’s easier to change positions throughout the night.

Cooling Features
DreamCloud advertises DreamCloud Premier as being breathable and designed to disperse heat. This mattress earns points for its:
- Top cover with a small amount of cashmere that regulates temperature
- Convoluted foam layer to allow excess heat to escape
- Layer of pocket coils for improved airflow

Company Background
DreamCloud Holdings launched the Nectar Sleep online mattress brand in 2017. DreamCloud was introduced in 2018 as a premium hybrid mattress. DreamCloud Holdings rebranded in 2019 to become Resident Home LLC. In late 2022, Leon’s Furniture announced an exclusive partnership with Resident to sell its Nectar and DreamCloud mattresses in Canada.
The company has a proven history of making false claims about where its mattresses are made. In 2018, the FTC filed a complaint against DreamCloud for violating the FTC Act on its “Made in USA” claims. As part of the ruling, the company is prohibited “from making several claims that deceive consumers and harm law-abiding businesses”.
In June 2022, the FTC ordered the company to “Cease Made in USA Fraud”, citing Resident Home as a “repeat offender.” The company consented to the ruling, and the FTC issued refunds to more than 12,000 affected people in the US.
Even so, in July 2023, the FTC ruled that DreamCloud mattresses were finished overseas and contain significant imported materials. This was after DreamCloud repeatedly claimed their mattresses were “proudly made with 100% USA-made premium quality materials.” The FTC charged Resident Home with false, unsupported, and misleading advertising.
At the time this review was originally written, DreamCloud’s customer review rating on Better Business Bureau was 2.6/5 stars, averaged across 115 reviews. However, DreamCloud seems to be continually changing their BBB profile. DreamCloud’s current BBB profile is rated “A+”, but has earned over 300 formal complaints in 3 years. DreamCloud is also rated “Poor” on Trustpilot, with over 80% of reviews being one star.

Is DreamCloud a good mattress?
DreamCloud Premier scored well when tested by third-party engineers (commissioned by us). However, with relatively few cooling features and a firm feel that’s only suitable for some sleep styles, Premier doesn’t offer as much value as we would expect for the price.
It’s also important to note that DreamCloud’s parent company, Resident Home, has repeatedly been charged with false advertising by the FTC. This makes it difficult to recommend buying the company’s products.
We think you should check out Logan & Cove Frontier instead. At $1,299 for a queen size, Frontier offers more value with a medium-firm feel, plush Euro-top cover, cooling gel foam, responsive Elastex® foam, zoned support, and body-contouring layers of pocket coils and micro coils.

Are DreamCloud and Nectar the same company?
DreamCloud and Nectar are owned by the same company: Resident Home LLC, previously known as DreamCloud Holdings. Resident also owns mattress brands Awara and Siena. While Nectar sells all-foam mattresses and DreamCloud sells hybrids, similar features are offered across both brands, such as a lifetime warranty.
But the amenities aren’t the only things that span across the brands. Both Nectar and DreamCloud have earned complaints about customer service, delivery issues, and struggles to return products on third-party review sites like Trustpilot and BBB. The brands are also at the top of some lists compiled by Redditors of mattress brands to avoid.
Where are DreamCloud mattresses made?
DreamCloud now states their mattresses are manufactured in North America after previously facing charges from the FDA for false “Made in the USA” claims. While the last DreamCloud mattress we purchased said it was made in the USA, the DreamCloud Premier we reviewed was manufactured in Mexico.
Do DreamCloud mattresses have fiberglass?
The law label on the DreamCloud mattress we purchased makes no mention of silica or other materials that are commonly listed when fiberglass is present. While DreamCloud’s website makes no mention of not containing fiberglass, there didn’t seem to be a firesock on the mattress we received. This is where fiberglass is typically found.

Do DreamCloud mattresses come in a box?
Yes, DreamCloud mattresses are shipped using the bed-in-a-box model. They arrive compressed, wrapped in plastic, and packaged in a cardboard box, similar to other online brands.
How do you return a DreamCloud mattress?
If you decide to return your DreamCloud mattress, the company offers free returns and pickups. Returned mattresses may be refunded or exchanged for a different mattress. DreamCloud’s website says they will recycle or donate returned mattresses.
