Product Details
Casper Atlas is a 10″ hybrid mattress with 4 layers of foam and coils. The coil layer contains edge support foam running along the sidewalls. The mattress has a medium-firm feel, very good edge support, and excellent motion isolation.
Atlas’s cover is made of polyester, polypropylene, and a small amount of spandex. Although the law label says that the top part of the cover is machine washable, Casper says not to remove the cover for any reason. The zipper on the cover is included as part of the manufacturing process and is not designed to be unzipped. Any spots or stains should be spot-cleaned only.
In comparison, competitor mattress Logan & Cove Choice costs significantly less at $999 for a queen size. It comes with several additional features, including a cooling nanofibre cover, cooling gel-infused foam, and hypoallergenic latex-like Elastex® foam. It also comes with a longer 365-night sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Casper Atlas arrives at your home in 5–15 business days, including dispatch and delivery time. Delivery is handled through UPS and is free for most locations across Canada. However, you may be charged an additional shipping fee if you live in Yukon, Nunavut, or the Northwest Territories, or in another remote area.
Casper offers a 100-night sleep trial to try out the mattress at home. If you decide you don’t want to keep it, you’ll need to wait 30 days before you can start a return. Returns include a full refund and free pickup service.
The mattress comes with a 10-year manufacturer’s limited warranty. This is standard for the mattress industry. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, but not damage incurred during shipping or any incidental damage.
In comparison, competing hybrid mattresses like Logan & Cove Choice come with a 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty. This gives you much more time to get to know your mattress.

Casper Atlas Mattress Construction
Casper Atlas stands 10″ tall and has 4 interior layers. Three of these are foam layers, and one is a layer of pocketed coils. All foam used is CertiPUR-US® certified. Casper does not publicly disclose the densities of the foams used.
- Layer 1: The top layer is 1.5″ of polyurethane foam. This layer is designed to add plushness as you lie down on the mattress.
- Layer 2: The second layer is 1.5″ of Casper’s transition foam, which stops you from feeling the denser support layer beneath. Casper says this foam also provides pressure-point relief but doesn’t explain how.
- Layer 3: The third layer is 6″ of individually pocketed metal coils, reinforced with edge support foam along the sidewalls. This layer gives the mattress most of its bulk, and stops you from sinking into the mattress too deeply while you’re lying down.
- Layer 4: The bottom layer is 1″ of support foam. This acts as a foundation for the coil layer, and protects the mattress and bed frame from damaging each other.
Casper Atlas’s Cozy Knit cover is made from polyester, polypropylene, and a small amount of spandex. Although the cover has a zipper and the law label says it’s machine washable, the Capser website says not to remove the mattress cover for any reason. Any stains on the cover should be spot-cleaned only.
Stay cool at night with Logan & Cove’s multiple advanced cooling features.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.

6.5 /10
Firmness
Hybrid mattresses tend to fall somewhere between foam and spring mattresses when it comes to their firmness. In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Casper Atlas had a deflection of 3″ when laid on, contributing to its 6.5/10 firmness score. This places Atlas in the medium-firm category for mattress firmness, which is good for all sleep styles.
(Looking for a mattress with a touch more support? Logan & Cove Choice scored 6.9/10 for firmness.)

7.8 /10
Edge Support
Casper Atlas had a deflection of 4.5″ from a seated position, earning it a 7.8/10 score for edge support—a very good score for a hybrid. You won’t sink much into the sidewalls when sitting on this mattress, and you won’t notice too much sinkage if you sleep farther away from the middle of the bed.
8.0 /10
Motion Isolation
Casper Atlas scored 8.0/10 for motion isolation, which is excellent for a hybrid mattress. While you may notice some of your partner’s larger motions, you shouldn’t be woken by smaller movements.
6.8 /10
Bounce
Casper Atlas scored 6.8/10 for bounce, which is above average for a hybrid mattress. Bounce in mattresses is a preference, so some sleepers may enjoy this responsiveness, while others may prefer a lower bounce level for a more consistent sleep surface.
(Want a hybrid with a little less bounce? Check out Logan & Cove Choice with its bounce score of 5.8/10.)

1.8 /10
Cooling
Hybrid mattresses tend to have better cooling than foam mattresses due to their coils, which promote air circulation and breathability. Although Casper Atlas isn’t marketed as a cooling mattress, it still provides some cooling thanks to its hybrid design. Casper Atlas gets points for its:
- Cozy Knit cover, which is designed for breathability.
- Layer of pocketed coils, which contributes to air circulation and heat dissipation.
Need a hybrid mattress with more cooling features? Consider Logan & Cove Choice with its layer of gel foam, layer of breathable Elastex® foam, and cooling nanofibre cover with gel-infused quilting.

Company Background
Founded in New York City, Casper first emerged in 2014 as an early North American bed-in-a-box brand. The company expanded its product lineup over the years with substantial funding from organizations like the Target Corporation and celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher.
Casper went public in 2020 but was taken private again in 2022 after a stock collapse. Also in 2022, Casper shut down its European operations, focusing exclusively on the North American market. In 2023, Casper sold its Canadian operations to Sleep Country Canada, and in 2024, after attempts to stop losing money, its US operations were acquired by one of its suppliers, Carpenter Corporation.
Today, the company offers mattresses, bedding accessories, and home decor. Products are sold online, through branded retail stores, and through Sleep Country locations in Canada. Their mattresses are sometimes accompanied by rotating sales or deals that may include free sleep accessories.
Although Casper has separate American and Canadian operations, the brand has one combined Trustpilot page, which rates it as “Poor” (based on over 6,000 customer reviews). On the Better Business Bureau, Casper’s American profile is rated “A+” (unaccredited), but has a customer review rating of just 1.17 out of 5 stars. Casper does not have a Canadian BBB profile, but its parent company Sleep Country Canada has a customer review score of just 1.27/5 on BBB, and is rated “Poor” on Trustpilot.
Where Casper makes its mattresses depends on whether you buy in Canada or the USA. Casper Canada makes most of its mattresses in Canada, with select models manufactured in the US. We have received Casper mattresses made in Canada, the United States and Mexico. The label of each mattress has information about where it was manufactured.
Buy your next mattress from a company with 4.89/5 stars on BBB and that’s rated “Excellent” on Trustpilot.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Casper mattresses good?
Casper Atlas performed well in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us) and would likely provide a restful sleep. That said, even though it’s part of Casper’s “value” line of mattresses, Atlas is more expensive than similar hybrid mattresses while offering fewer features.
In comparison, other hybrid mattresses like Logan & Cove Choice come with multiple advanced cooling technologies, including cooling gel foam and a cooling nanofibre cover. Logan & Cove also comes with a 15-year warranty, a 365-night sleep trial, and a free bedding bundle.
Where are Casper mattresses made?
Casper Canada makes most of its mattresses in Canada, with select models manufactured in the US.
Are Casper mattresses made in Canada?
According to a Casper Canada representative we spoke with, the majority of Casper mattresses are now made in Canada. The only exception is the Wave Hybrid Snow mattress, which is still manufactured in the United States.
The Casper mattresses that we have ordered and received have been made across North America, including in Canada (Atlas and Dawn), the United States (The Casper, Snow, Wave Hybrid, and Element Pro), and Mexico (Original).
Are Casper mattresses worth it?
While Casper is a popular brand, their mattresses can lack common features found in similar mattresses for a lower price. We think that competitor mattress Logan & Cove Choice gets you more for your money than Casper Atlas.
At just $999 for a queen size, Logan & Cove Choice comes with multiple cooling technologies, a 365-night sleep trial, and a 15-year warranty. You also get a free bedding bundle with your purchase.
Can a Casper mattress be used on an adjustable bed?
Yes, you can use any of Casper’s mattresses with an adjustable bed frame.
Can I put my Casper mattress on a box spring?
Yes, you can use your Casper mattress on a box spring or other supportive foundation. However, Casper recommends using a foundation with wooden slats that are at least 2.5″ wide and no more than 3″ apart.
Can a Casper mattress be flipped?
No, Casper mattresses can’t be flipped. Like most modern mattresses, Casper mattresses are designed to be oriented in one direction only.
Can I wash the Casper mattress cover?
No, the Casper mattress cover is not machine washable, according to Casper’s website. The mattress cover shouldn’t be removed, and should only be spot-cleaned.
How long do Casper mattresses last?
Casper mattresses come with an industry-standard 10-year warranty, so they should last at least that long.
How long do Casper mattresses take to expand?
According to the company, Casper mattresses may need 24–48 hours to finish expanding after it’s been unboxed and unwrapped.
Does the Casper mattress contain fiberglass?
According to the FAQ page on Casper.com (Casper’s American website), certain Casper models contain fiberglass to meet fire safety regulations in the United States.
While these fire regulations don’t apply in Canada, there is no public information on Casper’s Canadian site, Casper.ca, regarding whether or not their mattresses also contain fiberglass. We followed up with Casper Canada representatives, who confirmed that any Casper mattress ordered and delivered in Canada will be fiberglass free.
The Casper Atlas mattress we received did not contain fiberglass. We’d recommend reaching out to Casper’s support team if you need more information.
What Casper mattress alternatives should I consider?
We recommend Logan & Cove Choice. Logan & Cove incorporates multiple cooling technologies like gel-infused foam, breathable Elastex® foam, and CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres in the top cover to keep your sleep cool and comfortable. With a 365-night sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle with your purchase, Logan & Cove offers you more for a lower price.
