Product Details
Bloom Mist is a 9″ mattress with 3 foam layers. The comfort layer contains cooling gel foam, and its support layer contains bamboo charcoal-infused aerated foam. The charcoal infusion makes the mattress antimicrobial, and the aeration makes it more breathable.
Bloom Mist’s mattress cover is made from copper-infused organic cotton and is machine washable. According to the product page on Sleep Country’s website, its interior is protected with a rayon fire barrier. However, rayon wasn’t listed in the law label on the mattress we purchased for this review.
In comparison, competing mattresses like Juno offer more value at a lower price. Juno comes with a layer of cooling gel foam, a longer 120-night sleep trial with full refunds and free return pickup, and a 15-year warranty. Your purchase also includes a free bedding bundle with a mattress protector, pillow(s), sheets, and pillow protector(s).

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Bloom Mist is delivered directly through Sleep Country Canada and arrives on your doorstep within 3–10 business days, including dispatch and delivery time. Shipping is free for all orders over $75. However, if you live in the Canadian Territories or Newfoundland and Labrador, a $120 shipping surcharge will be added to your purchase.
Sleep Country offers an industry-standard 10-year manufacturer’s limited warranty, which covers manufacturing defects only. However, many customers have complained on Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot about difficulties making warranty claims, even when providing proper documentation.
If you return the mattress, you’ll have pay a $65 exchange fee and you won’t be refunded. You will only receive in-store credit to put toward buying another mattress, and if you choose a more expensive mattress, you’ll have to pay the price difference.
This is in contrast to competitor brands like Juno, which offers a 120-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty. Juno also offers full refunds and free return pickup.

Bloom Mattress Construction
Bloom Mist stands 9″ tall and has 3 interior layers.
- Layer 1: The top (comfort layer) is 1″ of cooling gel foam. This layer conforms the most to your body as you lie on the mattress, and helps to dissipate your body’s heat.
- Layer 2: The middle (transition) layer is 1″ of polyurethane foam. This layer stops you from feeling the denser support layer beneath.
- Layer 3: The bottom (support) layer is 7″ of aerated charcoal-infused memory foam. This layer gives the mattress most of its bulk, and the aerated foam promotes air circulation. Its antimicrobial charcoal infusion helps the mattress to stay fresh.
Bloom Mist’s mattress cover is made from organic cotton, and is both removable and machine washable. According to Sleep Country’s product page, the cover has been infused with copper to give it anti-microbial and anti-odour properties, though copper wasn’t listed on the law label. The fire sock underneath the cover is made of rayon.
Choose the mattress with similar cooling features for a much lower price.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.
6.2 /10
Firmness
In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), Bloom Mist had a deflection of 2.5″ when laid on, contributing to its firmness score of 6.2/10. This places Bloom Mist in the medium-firm category. This firmness level is ideal for all sleep styles, but is firmer than the “Medium” description this mattress has on Sleep Country’s website.
9.3 /10
Edge Support
Foam mattresses can often lack good edge support. However, Bloom Mist had a deflection of just 2.9″ from a seated position, resulting in an outstanding 9.3/10 edge support score. You will notice very little sinkage when sitting on the edge of this mattress or sleeping farther away from the middle.
7.2 /10
Motion Isolation
Bloom Mist scored 7.2/10 for motion isolation, a very good score. You won’t notice most of your partner or pet’s movements when they change sleep positions.
4.0 /10
Bounce
In third-party testing, Bloom Mist earned a 4.0/10 for bounce. Foam mattresses tend to have lower bounce scores, which is often a byproduct of their higher motion isolation.
(Looking for a mattress with less bounce for a more undisturbed sleep? Consider Juno with its lower bounce score of 2.5/10/.)
3.2 /10
Cooling Features
While Bloom Mist isn’t advertised as a cooling mattress, it does have a few cooling features to provide sleepers with some temperature regulation. Bloom Mist earns points for its:
- Cooling gel foam in the comfort layer that wicks heat away
- Aerated foam in the support layer, which promotes greater air circulation
- Charcoal infusion for odour management, which also helps draw heat away from your body
Looking for a budget foam mattress that does more to keep you cool? Check out Juno. With its layer of cooling gel foam and optional Cool+ cover, it’ll keep you cool whether you’re sleeping at home or in your RV.

Company Background
Bloom was established in 2018 and is owned by publicly traded company Sleep Country. Founded in 1994 in Vancouver, BC, Sleep Country now has hundreds of brick-and-mortar stores across Canada. The company sells a variety of sleep products, including mattresses, pillows, bedding, and furniture.
Sleep Country claims a commitment to providing Canadians with a better night’s sleep that’s unparalleled in the industry. However, online reviews don’t seem to agree. The company has a substandard reputation among consumer trust agencies. It may be rated “A+” (unaccredited) on Better Business Bureau, but Bloom has a customer review rating of 1.22/5 stars.
The company is also rated “Poor” on Trustpilot, with over 50% of reviews being one star. Common complaints from customers include product issues and difficulty filing warranty claims.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Bloom mattresses good?
The Bloom mattress lineup typically performs well in third-party engineer testing, and they’re affordably priced for Canadian shoppers. However, they’re only sold through Sleep Country, meaning you only get a 100-night sleep trial, 10-year warranty, and exchange-only policy with no refunds. We think you should check out Juno instead.
At only $499 for a queen size, Juno offers exceptional value in a foam mattress. Featuring a layer of cooling gel and an optional Cool+ cover upgrade, Juno keeps you from sleeping hot. Juno also comes with a 120-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty, and free return pickup with full refund.
Best of all, your purchase comes with a mattress protector and a free bedding item.
How much does Bloom Mist cost?
Bloom Mist has a price range of $699–$1,049, and is available in sizes ranging from twin to king. It’s not available in California king or RV sizes.
Who owns Bloom?
Sleep Country Canada owns and sells the Bloom mattress brand. The company also owns (or has an exclusive partnership with) multiple other mattress brands.
Where are Bloom mattresses made?
Although Sleep Country has been known to outsource Bloom’s manufacturing to countries like Spain and China, the law label on Bloom Mist indicates that it’s made in Canada.
Do Bloom mattresses have fiberglass?
Bloom Mist doesn’t contain fiberglass. Fiberglass is a common fire safety feature in mattresses, particularly those made in the United States and in China, but Bloom Mist uses a rayon fire barrier instead.

How do I return a Bloom mattress?
You can initiate a return at any point during Bloom Mist’s 100-night sleep trial. However, Sleep Country does not refund returned mattresses. You can only exchange your mattress for another, and you’ll have to pay an exchange fee of $65. You will also have to pay the difference in price if you choose a more expensive mattress, and Sleep Country doesn’t pick up mattress returns. You have to take the mattress back to the store yourself, even if you ordered it online.
Is the Bloom mattress cover machine washable?
Yes, Bloom Mist’s mattress cover is machine washable. According to the law label, it should be washed in cold or warm water on a delicate cycle.
What does the Bloom warranty cover?
Bloom mattresses come with Sleep Country’s industry-standard 10-year warranty. This warranty covers defects in manufacturing and workmanship, as well as any damage the mattress may receive during shipping. It doesn’t cover incidental damage after delivery, like stains, cuts, or rips.
What Bloom mattress alternatives should I consider?
We recommend Juno instead. At just $499 for a queen size Juno provides more value with its cooling gel foam layer, optional Cool+ cover upgrade, 120-night sleep trial, 15-year warranty, and a mattress protector and a free bedding item with purchase.
