Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns
Sleep Country handles shipping for its own products across most of Canada. The company relies on Sleep Country Canada for shipping to the northern territories, Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as other remote areas. Bloom Cloud ships for free, since it’s well over Sleep Country’s minimum $75 order value. Your order should arrive at your doorstep within 3–10 business days, including dispatch and delivery time. Bloom River arrives in a cardboard box, wrapped in two layers of plastic wrap.

Bloom Cloud comes with a 100-night sleep trial, which is average for the mattress industry. However, Sleep Country doesn’t allow free returns or refunds—only store credit so you can purchase another Sleep Country product. You’ll also need to transport the mattress back to the store yourself and pay a $65 fee for the exchange.
The Bloom Cloud mattress is covered by a 10-year warranty, which is standard for the mattress industry.
In comparison, competing foam mattresses like Douglas Original come with a 365-night trial and a 20-year warranty. Douglas also picks up the returned mattress and issues a full refund.

Bloom Cloud Mattress Construction
Bloom Cloud is an all-foam mattress with 4 distinct layers.
- Layer 1: The top layer is 1″ of aerated gel memory foam. This initial layer contours around your body, relieves pressure points, and allows for airflow while you sleep.
- Layer 2: This layer is 1″ of gel memory foam and synthetic latex foam, split into three sections to provide zoned support. The softer memory foam is at the head and foot of the mattress to support lighter areas of the body. In the centre, the firmer latex foam adds extra support for your lower back and hips.
- Layer 3: The transition layer is 1″ of memory foam. This provides extra contouring for your body and accounts for Bloom Cloud’s good motion isolation score.
- Layer 4: The support layer is 7.5″ of support foam. This foundational layer prevents your body from sinking too deeply into the mattress.
All foam used is CertiPUR-US® certified.
Bloom Cloud’s machine-washable mattress cover is made of organic cotton. It’s also infused with copper, which the company says will help fight off odours and microbes. The mattress’s interior is protected with a rayon sock that Sleep Country says helps to reduce flame hazard.
Douglas comes with a cooling, machine-washable mattress cover for just $799 for a queen size.

MattressReviews.ca commissions licensed third-party engineers and uses public data to rate mattresses on over 40 criteria.
This allows us to accurately rate and compare the performance of the mattresses reviewed on this website. Engineer independence and operating standards help ensure their results remain unbiased, valid, and reliable. Each mattress was evaluated using the same strict mattress testing methodology to protect the overall integrity of the results. The full report has been given the official stamp of approval from an APEGA-certified engineer operating under a strict ethical code of conduct.
Mattress testing conducted outside of this professional standard poses a greater risk of validity errors or reviewer bias.
5.7 /10
Edge Support
Bloom Cloud tested slightly above-average for edge support with a 5.7/10. You should be able to sit comfortably on the edge of the bed.
However, if you want better edge support in a mattress, consider Douglas Original with its edge support score of 7.8/10.
6.8 /10
Motion Isolation
Bloom Cloud scored above-average for motion isolation with a 6.8/10. This should keep you from noticing most of your partner’s nighttime movements and help you sleep soundly.
That said, Bloom Cloud scored lower than competing mattresses, like Douglas Original with 8.3/10.
3.3 /10
Bounce
Bounce is a matter of personal preference. It measures how quickly a mattress bounces back to its original shape after pressure is applied. Foam mattresses tend to offer a slower response time, translating to a lower bounce score. Hybrid mattresses with coils tend to be more bouncy and have a high response to pressure since they’re easy to switch positions and move around on.
Bloom Cloud earned a bounce score of 3.3/10, which is about average for a memory foam mattress. This is ideal if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken by movement.

4.4 /10
Cooling Features
Bloom Cloud is promoted as a memory foam mattress with cooling features. Bloom Cloud earned points for its:
- Organic cotton cover with copper infusion for heat transfer
- Gel-infused foam that allows for enhanced cooling
- Synthetic latex foam with an open-cell structure allowing for air circulation
- Aerated foam layer for breathability
While these are useful features in a mattress, they come at a higher-than-average price tag of $1,199 for a queen size. In comparison, Douglas Original has a similar cooling feature score of 4.2/10 at a lower price of $799.
