The Avocado Green mattress comes in two firmness options: Standard (firm) and Medium. The Medium option has a pillow topper that adds extra softness—and $300–600 to your order, depending on the mattress size.
The Avocado Green mattress boasts organic materials and sustainable construction. The base model (Standard) has a firm feel and costs $2,799 for a queen size—considerably pricier than other hybrids. You can also buy an optional pillow-top upgrade for a Medium feel for an extra $300–600, depending on the mattress size.
Avocado Green has above-average motion isolation and a higher-than-normal level of bounce compared to similar hybrids. However, it has exceptionally poor edge support, no cooling features, and restrictive sleep trial conditions. This makes competing hybrid mattresses like Logan & Cove Choice more appealing.

Avocado typically takes about 8–12 business days to deliver your mattress to your doorstep once they receive your order, and will ship for free to most of Canada. Though free shipping is always good, this timeframe may be too long if you need a mattress sooner rather than later. There is also an additional fee for in-home delivery and set-up.
Avocado Green comes with a 25-year warranty. You also get a 365-night sleep trial that gives you a chance to truly get to know the mattress. However, you’ll need to rotate the mattress once a month for the first six months, then once every two months for the remainder of the trial. The sleep trial is void if you don’t rotate the mattress as directed.
If you want to return your mattress, Avocado arranges pickup as long as the mattress is still in good condition (with law tags intact) and you’re still located in Canada. You’ll need to send the company photos to confirm the mattress is suitable for donation. If you make an international return, it’s at your own risk and expense.
In comparison, a competing hybrid mattress like Logan & Cove Choice arrives in 2–11 business days and comes with a less restrictive 365-night sleep trial. There are no requirements to rotate your mattress. If you decide to return the mattress during the trial, Logan & Cove will arrange pickup and provide a full refund.

Avocado was founded in 2016 and is based in Los Angeles, California, USA. The company’s stated purpose is to provide affordable, ecologically sustainable mattresses using “non-toxic, natural, and organic materials.” Avocado mattresses are produced in Los Angeles and designed in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Materials used in constructing Avocado’s products come from domestic and international sources. Avocado owns several farms across India, getting wool for its products from 200,000 sheep. These farms also provide Avocado with the latex it uses in mattress production. Avocado is a Climate Neutral Certified company.
While Avocado is known as an eco-friendly company, its online reputation is lacking. Avocado is rated “A+” on BBB but has a customer review rating of 2.07/5 stars. The company also has a “Bad” rating on Trustpilot with 1.8/5 stars, with 81% of reviews being one star at the time of writing.
Customers have complained about sagging in the Avocado Green mattress, as well as sagging in the mattress topper. Some customer complaints mention a noticeable smell after receiving and unpacking their mattress. Others have also had customer service difficulties, particularly when encountering issues with the company’s warranty.
Consider Logan & Cove, which has 4.87/5 stars on BBB and is rated “Excellent” on Trustpilot.

The Avocado Green mattress comes in two firmness options: Standard (firm) and Medium. The Medium option has a pillow topper that adds extra softness—and $300–600 to your order, depending on the mattress size.
Avocado recommends using a rigid, non-spring foundation, platform, adjustable bed base, or a slatted foundation that has “a maximum spacing of five inches between slats.” A box spring is not recommended because the company believes using one makes the mattress too bouncy. The company recommends against putting the mattress directly on your floor.
The Avocado Green mattress doesn’t come with a mattress cover. This means the mattress is spot-clean only. Avocado recommends using its Organic Cotton Mattress Pad Protector with this mattress, which is machine washable.
The Avocado Green mattress is handmade in Los Angeles with domestic and imported materials. Mattresses are designed in New Jersey, and the company sources materials from India and Guatemala.
The main difference lies in the Standard (firm) and Medium’s comfort layers. The Medium option features an additional 2-inch latex layer for enhanced contouring, resulting in a softer feel compared to the Firm option.
This additional latex layer costs an additional $300–600, depending on mattress size, and is the only notable difference between Standard and Medium options.
