Octave Vista and Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud are both memory foam mattresses. Each offers pressure-relieving cushioning and support. However, only Octave offers a mattress made with premium materials and advanced construction at an affordable price.
Octave Vista combines a five-zone body support system to ease muscle and joint strain with advanced cooling features like a CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibre cover, antimicrobial copper-infused memory foam, and PolarMAX® phase-change material—all crafted to deliver a refreshing and restorative sleep experience.
Every Octave mattress comes with a 365-night sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle. Octave Vista is also much more accessibly priced at just $899 for a queen size—a third of the price of Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud.

Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud is the brand’s compressed mattress option. It features a 3-layer design made with TEMPUR® foam. The mattress’s only cooling feature is a moisture-wicking mattress cover. This cover isn’t machine washable because of the fiberglass fire sock beneath. TEMPUR-Cloud is much more expensive and provides less value overall than comparable bed-in-a-box brands at $2,799 for a queen size, with only a 90-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty.
In comparison, Octave Vista’s advanced construction includes an innovative five-zoned support system and premium cooling technologies like copper-infused memory foam, phase-change material, and a machine-washable cooling nanofibre cover. All of these features are designed to promote a good night’s sleep and help you wake up feeling refreshed. It’s also much more affordable than TEMPUR-Cloud at just $899 for a queen size, with a longer 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty.
To help you choose between Tempur-Pedic vs Octave, we’ve gathered all the information you need to accurately compare these two mattresses. Note that Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud’s overall rating is significantly lower overall than Octave Vista’s. This is because of TEMPUR-Cloud’s high price and low value.

TEMPUR-Cloud is advertised as a medium mattress. However, its firmness score of 5.5/10 places TEMPUR-Cloud at the lowest end of the medium-firm category. A number of customer reviews even mention that this mattress feels firmer than expected. At the same time, TEMPUR-Cloud has more “hug” and softness in the comfort layer than many other foam mattresses. If you’re a side sleeper, you may find this level of firmness uncomfortable. It should feel supportive if you’re a back or stomach sleeper.
Octave Vista was designed with a medium-firm feel and scored a 6.8/10 for firmness. Its layers of premium foams and multi-zone support offer the perfect mix of cushioning, ergonomic support, and targeted pressure-point relief. Medium-firm mattresses are ideal for all sleep styles, meaning you should find this level of firmness comfortable whether you sleep on your back, side, or stomach.
Memory foam mattresses aren’t typically known for having high edge support. However, both Octave and Tempur-Pedic perform above average. Octave Vista scored 7.5/10, while Tempur-Pedic scored 8.5/10. With either mattress, you can expect to sit comfortably on the edge of the mattress without falling off.
Motion isolation is essential for a good night’s sleep, especially if you’re sharing the bed with a restless partner, kids, or pets. Comparing Tempur-Pedic vs Octave for motion isolation, TEMPUR-Cloud tested below average with a 4.6/10.
Octave Vista, on the other hand, has a significantly higher motion isolation score of 7.3/10. This means you can expect a restful night’s sleep without noticing much movement from the other side of the bed.
Octave Vista and Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud both have below-average bounce scores. This is typical for foam mattresses. Tempur-Pedic has a bounce score of 3.6/10, while Octave Vista has a very similar score of 3.7/10.
It may take a little more effort to change positions with either mattress, compared to mattresses with a higher bounce score. But paired with Octave’s high motion isolation score, you know your movements won’t wake your sleeping partner.
Foam can be known to trap heat, so most modern foam mattresses incorporate cooling features to help ensure breathability and airflow for comfortable sleep. Octave achieves this by incorporating features such as CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres in the mattress cover, PolarMAX® phase-change material, a layer of CopperGel™ infused memory foam, and breathable Elastex® foam. These elements earned Octave Vista a cooling features score of 7.2/10.
TEMPUR-Cloud, also a foam mattress, received a cooling features score of just 1.6/10. Despite being promoted as a cooling mattress, the company doesn’t explain what those cooling technologies are. We were only able to identify two features: the top cover made with moisture-wicking fabric, and the optional mattress upgrade that includes a layer of breathable pocket coils.
These scores indicate you’re more likely to have a cooler and more comfortable sleep with Octave Vista.

Both Octave Vista and Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud are memory foam mattresses with 3 layers. However, their construction differs on a few key points.
The Canadian-made Octave Vista stands 12″ tall and is made with premium foams, zoned support and advanced cooling features to keep you cool, comfortable, and supported at night. TEMPUR-Cloud is only 10″ tall, was made in the United States, contains a fiberglass fire sock, and has limited cooling features that may not be enough to address the heat-trapping qualities of memory foam.
Unlike TEMPUR-Cloud, Octave Vista’s top cover is removable and machine washable for easy cleaning. Tempur-Pedic’s TEMPUR-Cloud top cover is a polyester-and-spandex blend that isn’t removable or machine washable. This could be partly because TEMPUR-Cloud contains 23% “glass fiber” (fiberglass) in its internal fire sock netting. (We safely removed the cover for the purposes of this comparison but don’t recommend doing the same at home.) Instead of removing the cover, spot-clean the mattress carefully when it gets dirty.
Tempur-Pedic says the mattress’s top cover material is breathable and moisture-wicking. However, our research has raised more questions about how the cover could possibly provide sufficient cooling. Polyester does have quick-drying properties, but it isn’t naturally breathable and can cause heat retention. Spandex, too, doesn’t have cooling properties and could even reduce the breathability of other fabrics.
A blend of polyester and spandex could be engineered to provide cooling features through the right combination of fabric structure, moisture management, and added cooling technologies. But Tempur-Pedic hasn’t publicly shared any further information about any such engineering. Since the top cover appears to be TEMPUR-Cloud’s only cooling feature, it seems unlikely that the mattress cover could be cool enough to offset memory foam‘s heat-trapping properties.
Octave Vista, on the other hand, has a top cover that’s woven with CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres. Fabrics with nanofibres can be engineered with superior moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating properties. This gives the sleep surface a refreshingly cool feel and draws moisture away from your body throughout the night, enabling you to experience a deeper and more comfortable sleep. Fabrics made from nanofibres can be very breathable due to the tiny spaces between fibres, which allows for better air circulation.
