Which Is Better: Octave or Endy?

Endy and Octave are both well-known mattress brands, but Octave mattresses offer tension-relieving zoned support and exceptional cooling features for a similar price. Octave Vista is designed with premium foams and advanced cooling features like a moisture-wicking cover with cooling nanofibres to pull sweat away from your body, antimicrobial copper-infused memory foam to dissipate heat and provide a clean and fresh sleep surface, and phase-change material for temperature balance. Firmness

Comparing the Octave mattress vs Endy, The Endy has extra softness from the top layer and a significant amount of “hug.” This means that despite Endy being a medium firm mattress with a score of 5.7/10, you will sink partway into the mattress when you lie down and could find it harder to change positions. The amount of sinkage in The Endy could also cause you to sleep warmer—not ideal with The Endy’s lack of cooling features.

Octave Vista, however, was designed with a medium-firm feel and less of a sinking feeling compared to The Endy. It scored a 6.8/10 when tested for firmness by third-party engineers (commissioned by us). Octave’s layers of premium memory foam and multi-zone support offer the perfect mix of cooling, cushioning, ergonomic support, and pressure-point relief.

Edge Support

Memory foam mattresses aren’t typically known for having high edge support. However, Octave Vista provides above-average edge support with a score of 7.5/10, according to third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us). The Endy scored lower at 7.3/10.

You can comfortably sit on the edge of either mattress and should have no trouble getting out of bed.

Motion Isolation

Good motion isolation helps you enjoy a restful night’s sleep without being disturbed by your partner, kids, or pets. Comparing Endy vs Octave, both mattresses have excellent motion isolation scores. Octave scored 7.3/10 in engineer testing, while The Endy scored 7.4/10.

Bounce

Bounce is a matter of preference, and foam mattresses tend to have lower bounce scores. Octave has a below-average bounce rating at 3.7/10—good news if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken. Octave Vista also has less “sink” than The Endy, along with a layer of springy Elastex® that helps you shift positions more easily.

Endy, on the other hand, has a bounce rating of 5.5/10. This is average for a foam mattress. Depending on your sleep needs, you may find that this higher level of bounce cancels out some of The Endy’s motion-isolating properties.

Cooling Features

Foam can be known to trap heat, so most modern foam mattresses incorporate cooling features to help ensure breathability and airflow for comfortable sleep. Octave achieves this by incorporating features such as CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres in the mattress cover, PolarMAX® phase-change material, a layer of CopperGel™ infused memory foam, and breathable Elastex® foam. These elements earned Octave Vista a cooling features score of 7.2/10. 

Endy, also a foam mattress, received a cooling features score of just 0.8/10. This mattress isn’t designed with any advanced cooling features. However, it does have a layer of open-cell foam, which can improve the mattress’s breathability. These scores indicate you’re more likely to have a cooler and more comfortable sleep on an Octave Vista.

Comparing Endy mattress vs Octave mattress construction, both Octave Vista and Endy are Canadian-made foam mattresses with 3 layers for comfort, transition, and support.

The Endy is 10″ tall, latex-free, and hypoallergenic. It doesn’t have any cooling features. In comparison, Octave Vista is 12″ tall and is designed with a cooling nanofibre cover, antimicrobial copper-infused memory foam, and phase-change material for a temperature-controlled and fresher sleep surface.

• Layer 1: Octave Vista’s top (comfort) layer is 2″ of CopperGel™ memory foam treated with PolarMAX® phase-change material, which adapts to seasonal temperature changes. This layer contours around your body, providing immediate relief from strain on your muscles and joints. Copper is also an antimicrobial metal and helps promote a clean, fresh sleep surface while transferring heat away from your body.
• Layer 2: Vista’s transition layer is 2″ of premium Elastex® foam, which is designed to be breathable and responsive. This specialized foam layer has the same springy feel as natural latex with the same pressure-relieving feel. The added bounce also makes it easier for you to change sleep positions.
• Layer 3: The support layer is 8″ of high-density foam divided into a unique five-zoned support system. This layer provides contouring support for your body, with added support beneath your back, hips, and knees. This innovative design reduces discomfort and stiffness while caring for your body and aiding in its natural recovery.

Endy Mattress Layers

• Layer 1: The 2″ comfort layer is made of Endy Comfort Foam, which provides some “hug” with a fair bit of sink. Endy also claims that the foam’s open-cell design improves airflow and keeps you cool while you sleep.
• Layer 2: The 3″ transition layer of foam helps provide pressure relief for a more comfortable, tension-free sleep.
• Layer 3: The 5″ support layer is designed to reduce motion transfer. This is important if you’re a light sleeper and your partner tosses and turns in their sleep.

When MattressReviews.ca contacted Endy, the company declined to share any composition or density details about Endy Comfort Foam, other than saying it’s 100% polyurethane.

Both mattresses offer a machine-washable top cover with a zipper for easy removal. However, only Octave Vista has a top cover with CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres. This gives the sleep surface a refreshingly cool feel while it wicks away moisture from your body throughout the night.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns

In comparing the Octave mattress vs Endy, both mattresses ship by ground for free using FedEx. Additional fees may apply for some remote locations. Octave Vista and The Endy both ship from Ontario or Alberta. Octave will reach your doorstep in 3–10 business days, including dispatch and delivery time, while Endy will reach it in 1–10 business days.

Your mattress is delivered directly to your door throughout most parts of Canada. Both Octave Vista and The Endy are shipped in cardboard boxes and protected by two layers of heavy-duty plastic. Once unrolled, both mattresses fully expand within a few minutes and are sleep-ready on delivery day.

Octave’s 365-night sleep trial is considerably longer than Endy’s 100-night trial. However, both Endy and Octave have a 15-year warranty. Both companies will pick up returns for free within the sleep trial period and issue a full refund. Your old mattress will then be donated to a local charity or taken to a recycling facility, depending on what’s available.
