Which Is Better: Sealy Posturepedic or Logan & Cove?

Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt and Logan & Cove Choice are both medium-firm hybrid mattresses, but their construction and overall value are very different. Only Logan & Cove features full-body zoned support, a 365-night sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and advanced cooling technologies for just $999 for a queen size.

In comparison, Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt is only sold through Costco Canada, so you’ll need a current Costco membership to buy it. While it has a lower price, Hollycourt is only available in a queen size, doesn’t have a sleep trial, and comes with an industry-standard warranty of just 10 years.

In addition, Costco has a poor online reputation and is rated “D-“ on Better Business Bureau and “Poor” on Trustpilot. These low scores are based on thousands of customer reviews that mention issues with delivery and customer service.

When you’re comparing Sealy vs Logan & Cove, the choice is simple—Logan & Cove is the clear winner.

Mattress Breakdown

When comparing Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt and Logan & Cove Choice, both offer cooling covers, layers of cooling gel foam, and pocketed coils. But only Logan & Cove has advanced cooling features like nanofibres in the top cover and a layer of breathable Elastex® foam. Logan & Cove Choice also comes with a 365-night sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle, all for just $999 for a queen size.

In comparison, Hollycourt offers fewer and less advanced cooling features. It doesn’t come with a sleep trial, and since Costco doesn’t let you lie on the mattress in-store, you’re committing to a purchase without a testing period. In addition, the warranty period is just 10 years, and you don’t get a free bedding bundle with your purchase.

To help you choose between Logan & Cove vs Sealy Posturepedic, we’ve gathered all the information you need to accurately compare these two Canadian mattresses.

Firmness

In third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us) Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt earned a firmness score of 6.1/10. While this score places Hollycourt in the medium-firm range, some reviews on Costco’s website state that Hollycourt felt overly firm, and the Euro-top cover was lumpy and uncomfortable.

Logan & Cove Choice, on the other hand, has body-contouring support with just the right amount of sinkage and a slightly more plush feel. At the same time, Choice scored 6.9/10 for firmness, which places the mattress on the firmer side of the medium-firm category.

A medium-firm mattress is ideal for all sleep styles—whether you sleep on your side, back, or stomach—because it provides a good balance of support and comfort. You should find either mattress provides a comfortable level of firmness.

Edge Support

Hybrid mattresses generally have better edge support than foam mattresses, thanks to their metal coils. Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt scored 7.3/10, which is above average for a hybrid.

However, Logan and Cove Choice scored even better with a 7.5/10. You should have plenty of support while sitting on the edge of the bed, and you can comfortably sleep farther away from the middle of the mattress without sinking too much into the sidewalls.

Motion Isolation

Motion isolation is important for enjoying a good night’s sleep without being disturbed by a restless partner, kids, or pets. Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt scored above average with 6.1/10 for motion isolation.

However, Logan & Cove Choice scored even better with 7.5/10 for motion isolation. This score means you should feel minimal movement if your partner changes sleep positions, and you’re less likely to be disturbed if your kids and pets jump into bed with you.

Bounce

Innerspring and hybrid mattresses are known for having extra bounce, thanks to the coil layers inside. Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt has an above-average bounce score of 6.9/10. This can be good if you need a highly responsive sleep surface. But with the mattress’s lower motion isolation score, you may notice your partner’s movements even more.

In comparison, Logan & Cove Choice’s bounce score of 5.8/10 is just slightly above average for a hybrid mattress. You’ll still be able to change positions and get out of bed easily, but you should be able to enjoy a more restful night’s sleep.

Cooling Features

Hybrid mattresses have more airflow to help keep you cool at night due to their coils. Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt received a cooling features score of 4.7/10 due to its layers of convoluted foam, gel-infused foam, and pocket coils, as well as moisture-wicking fibres in the top cover. However, despite these cooling features, some Costco customers found the mattress too hot.

Logan & Cove Choice earned a slightly lower cooling features score of 4.4/10. It has a cooling top cover that contains CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres, breathable hollow fibre fill, and cooling gel foam. The mattress also has layers of ecoLuxe® cooling gel foam, Elastex® foam (a breathable open-cell foam similar to latex), and pocketed coils.

Both Logan & Cove Choice and Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt are Canadian-made hybrid mattresses with 4 layers. While each mattress has pocket coils, a quilted cover, and cooling technology, their construction is still very different.

For example, only Logan & Cove offers zoned support using more than 900 coils to relieve pressure on your back and hips. Choice also has cooling features packed into the tight-top design for improved cooling.

Logan & Cove Choice Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The first layer is 1″ of breathable hollow fibre fill and cooling gel-infused foam. It’s quilted directly under the tight-top cover, providing a degree of plushness and directly dissipating your body heat when you’re lying down.
  • Layer 2: The second layer is 1″ of ecoLuxe® cooling gel foam. This foam layer provides excellent comfort and pressure-point relief, conforming to your body’s shape while also wicking away heat and moisture.
  • Layer 3: The third layer is 1″ of Elastex® foam. This layer contours around your body, providing latex-like responsiveness and pressure relief, but without any of the allergy-causing chemicals in many natural latex mattresses.
  • Layer 4: The support layer is 9″ of individually pocketed coils. Made of double-tempered steel, these coils are divided into 3 body-supporting zones to give contouring support for your back and hips. This layer is also encased with 4″-thick edge support foam along the sidewalls to give you more support when sitting on your bed, or lying farther away from the middle.

Logan & Cove Choice’s quilted tight-top cover is made of polyester, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and spandex. This adds a layer of plushness and luxury detailing that isn’t often seen in the bed-in-a-box industry.

Because the cover is integrated directly into the mattress, it’s not removable or machine washable. However, your purchase comes with a free bedding bundle that includes a mattress protector, which makes cleaning easy and convenient.

Sealy Posturepedic Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The first layer of this mattress is 1.25″ of Sealy’s convoluted GelBoost HD memory foam. This gel-infused foam offers a cooling effect and helps improve airflow throughout the mattress.
  • Layer 2: This 3″ transition layer is SealySupport gel-HD foam—a second layer of gel-infused foam that is pre-compressed. This layer is CertiPUR-US® certified, but it’s not clear if this applies to all layers. This layer offers additional cushioning and prevents you from feeling the springs below.
  • Layer 3: A 9″ inch layer of individually pocketed SealyResponse coils offers support and responsiveness, and is also meant to help reduce motion transfer.
  • Layer 4: The final layer of this mattress is an unspecified fibre fill that measures 0.5″ when compressed beneath the coil layer (roughly 2″ when uncompressed, as seen in the photo above). The innerspring system rests on this layer, likely for stability and to prevent noise or scratches from the coils. The layer isn’t mentioned on Costco’s product page.

The remainder of Hollycourt’s height is made up of 0.5″ of fibre quilted into the Euro-top cover. Costco describes these MoistureProtect fibres as being designed to draw moisture away from your body throughout the night.

Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt’s cover is not removable or machine washable, so any stains or spills will need to be spot-cleaned. Any stains on the mattress will void your warranty, so Sealy suggests investing in a mattress protector. However, unlike Logan & Cove Choice, the mattress doesn’t come with a mattress protector. You’ll need to purchase one yourself for an added cost.

Logan & Cove Choice

Logan & Cove ships by ground using FedEx. Your mattress is delivered directly to your door throughout most parts of Canada and arrives in 2–11 business days. Additional fees may apply for some remote locations. The mattress arrives in a cardboard box for easy handling, compressed and rolled in two layers of heavy-duty plastic.

Logan & Cove Choice comes with a 365-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty. Logan & Cove will pick up returns for free within the sleep trial period, and donate your returned mattress to a local charity in your area or recycle the mattress if donation isn’t possible. The company has a strong online reputation for good customer service, backed by a BBB rating of “A+” and a Trustpilot rating of “Excellent”.

Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt

If you want to buy Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt from Costco, you can order it online through Costco’s website or pick it up in-store. While the company says a Quick Ship option is available, it will depend on where you live. Delivery is free and the typical timeframe is 7–10 business days. The mattress is delivered fully expanded, so be prepared to safely transport it into your home.

Hollycourt doesn’t come with a sleep trial. Instead, Costco’s usual return policy will apply. It could take two or three weeks to arrange for pickup, and the mattress must be in its original packaging. Your return must also be approved if you want to get your money back. Return pickup is only available for mattresses that were purchased online—if you bought it in-store, you’ll have to bring Hollycourt back to the warehouse yourself.

Sealy Posturepedic Hollycourt comes with an industry-standard warranty of only 10 years. Sealy recommends using a mattress protector to help keep your warranty intact, but you won’t receive one with your purchase.

While Costco is a popular brand, it has a poor online reputation. The company is rated “Poor” on Trustpilot and “D-“ on Better Business Bureau. These ratings are based on thousands of customer reviews, many of which mention issues with delivery and customer service. Sealy itself scores similarly low, with a “Poor” rating on Trustpilot and a BBB rating of “B-” (unaccredited).
