Structube, on the other hand, has no sleep trial—just a 7-day return window for unopened products. Structube’s 1-year warranty is also the shortest we’ve ever seen for a mattress. Firmness

When tested by third-party engineers (commissioned by us), Juno and Structube Loft 8 both received firmness scores that are consistent with a medium-firm feel. Structube scored 5.7/10, which is close to a medium feel. Juno is more of a true medium-firm mattress, with a slightly firmer score of 6.0/10.

You should find both mattresses provide a good balance of comfort and support. However, some stomach and back sleepers may find that the Structube mattress doesn’t offer adequate support for their sleeping styles.

Edge Support

When it comes to edge support, it’s easy to get in and out of bed with both Juno and Structube. Both mattresses provide excellent support when you sit or lie near the edge of the bed. Juno scored 8.0/10 for edge support, while Structube Loft 8 scored 8.3/10. You should feel well-supported on either mattress.

Motion Isolation

Motion isolation is another area where these two mattresses both performed well. Structube Loft 8 received a motion isolation score of 6.1/10. This is above average for a foam mattress. Juno scored slightly higher at 6.2/10. Most large movements from across the bed on either mattress should be silenced, helping you get more restful and uninterrupted sleep.

Bounce

Bounce is a matter of preference when you’re shopping for a mattress. Low bounce levels help create a consistent sleep surface and stop motion transfer, while higher bounce levels can make it easier to get out of bed. Both Structube and Juno have low levels of bounce, which is typical of foam mattresses. Juno earned a bounce score of 2.5/10, and Structube scored 3.3/10.

Cooling Features

While neither mattress is marketed as a cooling mattress, Juno and Structube both incorporate features to help keep sleepers cool throughout the night. Structube earned a cooling feature score of 2.2/10 due to its gel-infused memory foam and convoluted foam layers, which help to create airflow in the mattress and disperse excess heat.

Juno offers the option to upgrade to a Cool+ cover for even better temperature regulation. With this upgrade, Juno scored higher than Structube with a cooling feature score of 2.4/10. In addition to its cooling cover made with specialty cooling yarn, Juno also features a layer of cooling gel foam, enhancing the mattress’s cooling effects.

Juno and Structube Loft 8 are both combination foam mattresses that stand 8″ tall. Juno has 2 foam layers, including a layer of cooling gel foam. Structube has 4 layers and also features gel-infused foam.

Juno Mattress Layers

• Layer 1: The comfort layer consists of 2″ of full-body cooling gel foam, giving you contoured comfort and a cool night’s sleep. It has a foam density of 2.5 lb/ft³.
• Layer 2: The support layer is 6″ of total support foam, which makes the mattress feel firmer, provides extra edge support, and reduces motion transfer from the other side of the bed. Its foam density is 1.85 lb/ft³.

Juno’s cover design pays tribute to the classic striped wool socks that have been a staple in Canadian wardrobes for generations. The grey-white-and-berry pattern is crafted from polyester and viscose materials, with a prominent berry-coloured stripe along one end of the mattress. The upgraded Cool+ cover uses specialty cooling yarn to wick moisture and dissipate extra heat away from your body throughout the night.

The Juno mattress cover isn’t machine washable and should be spot-cleaned only. However, your Juno comes with a free mattress protector to help keep your mattress in pristine shape.

Structube Mattress Layers

• Layer 1: The top (comfort) layer is 1″ gel-infused memory foam. This layer provides cushioning so you don’t feel the layers beneath, and its cooling gel wicks heat away from your body.
• Layer 2: The second layer is 1″ charcoal foam. This foam, which uses the same engineering principles as charcoal air filters, adds support and is advertised to help manage odours.
• Layer 3: The third layer is 2″ convoluted foam, a type of foam that has a peak-and-valley structure. This creates air channels to wick heat and odours away from your bed.
• Layer 4: The bottom (support) layer is 4″ unspecified high-density foam. This layer gives the mattress most of its bulk and prevents you from sinking too deeply into the mattress layers.

The mattress cover for Structube is advertised as being anti-microbial and anti-mite, although the company doesn’t describe how. The cover also has a zipper, but the company doesn’t say whether the mattress cover is machine washable. We recommend spot-cleaning only to be safe.

Delivery, Sleep Trial & Returns

Juno

Juno ships by ground for free using FedEx. Your mattress is delivered directly to your door throughout most parts of Canada. Additional fees may apply for some remote locations. Your Juno mattress should arrive at your doorstep in 2–10 business days.

Once your mattress arrives, your sleep trial starts. With Juno, you get 120 nights to test the mattress and decide if you’d like to keep it. If you decide to return your Juno, the company’s customer service team helps arrange a pickup time and date. Your mattress will be picked up for free and donated to charity (so long as it’s in good condition), or recycled responsibly. Your full refund will be issued back to your original payment method.

In the case of damage to your mattress, it’s important to have a warranty.  Juno sleepers receive a 15-year warranty with their mattress for ample peace of mind. This is several years longer than the industry-standard 10-year warranty provided by most mattress manufacturers.

Structube

Structube delivers its own products to customers, who can pick them up in-store or have them delivered. Shipping is free for orders over $299. For an extra $50 fee, you can have the mattress delivered to a specific room in your house. Structube mattresses take up to 14 business days to arrive at their transporter’s facility, who then schedules the delivery. The time it takes to arrive at your home will be an additional unspecified amount of time.

Structube’s return period for the mattress is just 7 days. This would be a short sleep trial in and of itself, but Structube specifies you can’t return the mattress if it’s removed from its original packaging. This means you get no sleep trial or opportunity to test out the Loft 8 mattress. Be sure you love the Structube mattress before you order.

Returns with Structube are slightly more complex than with Juno. According to Structube’s website, mattress returns or exchanges can’t be processed in-store. You’ll have to ship your mattress back to the company within 7 days of receiving it, as well as pay a shipping fee of $69 plus taxes. The mattress needs to be returned in its original condition and packaging. Any damage to the mattress will void your approval for return.

Structube’s 1-year warranty is the shortest we’ve seen for any mattress. That makes it hard to know if the company stands behind their product. It’s important to note that Structube has a number of negative reviews related to product quality and returns, with one customer saying their mattress contained bed bugs.
