Mattress Breakdown

Juno offers a well-rounded combination of support and comfort, as well as a gel foam layer and optional Cool+ cover for a cooler night’s sleep. This mattress also received high scores for its excellent edge support, longer 120-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty, free shipping, and easy returns with full refund. Your purchase also comes with a free free bedding bundle that includes a mattress protector, pillow(s), sheets, and pillow protector(s)—all for half the price of Loop.

Both Loop and Juno offer above-average motion isolation and a medium-firm feel. However, Loop doesn’t provide any advanced cooling features to offset the heat-trapping tendencies of memory foam. This mattress has a shorter sleep trial of only 90 nights, an unclear warranty length, a restrictive one-time exchange-only policy, and a firm no-refund policy.

Loop’s parent company has a rating of “F” (unaccredited) on BBB under its French trade name of Meubles RD, and a “Bad” rating on Trustpilot under its former  trade name, Surplus RD. In comparison, Juno’s parent company is rated “A+” on BBB and “Excellent” on Trustpilot. The Juno mattress also has 4,900+ five-star reviews.

To help you choose between Juno vs Loop, we’ve gathered all the information you need to accurately compare these two Canadian mattresses.

Firmness

In independent, third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), both Loop and Juno tested as “medium-firm” mattresses. Loop scored 6.1/10 for firmness, with a decent level of sink and a gentle “hugging” sensation. Juno received a similar firmness score of 6.0/10. It offers a well-rounded combination of support and comfort, with slightly more “hug” and better pressure point relief.

Edge Support

Foam mattresses aren’t typically known for high edge support. However, Juno has excellent edge support with a score of 8.0/10. The Loop mattress scored lower at 6.8/10. You should be able to sit on the edge of the bed comfortably with either mattress, but if you’re looking for better edge support to get out of bed more easily, Juno is the stronger choice.

Motion Isolation

Motion isolation helps you enjoy a good night’s sleep without being disturbed by a restless partner, kids, or pets. Foam mattresses tend to provide good motion isolation, and Juno is no different with an above-average score of 6.2/10. Loop also had an above-average score of 7.7/10. You should be able to enjoy an undisturbed night’s sleep with either mattress.

Bounce

Loop has a bounce score of 8.1/10—an extremely high score for a foam mattress. While bounce is more of a preference, this level of bounce may be too much if getting an undisturbed sleep is important to you.

In comparison, Juno has a much lower bounce rating of 2.5/10—ideal if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken. Even with Juno’s lower bounce score, you should still be able to change sleep positions easily without feeling stuck.

Cooling Features

While Loop and Juno aren’t advertised as cooling mattresses, both incorporate some cooling features to help sleepers stay cool throughout the night.

Loop has a single cooling feature of gel-infused memory foam layers, resulting in a cooling feature score of 1.2/10.

Juno earned a higher cooling feature score of 2.4/10. This score is due to the mattress’s cooling cover made from special cooling yarn and a layer of cooling gel foam that keeps your sleep surface cool and promotes enhanced air circulation.

Juno is a combination foam mattress, while Loop is a memory foam mattress. Juno contains 2 layers, one of which is a cooling gel layer. Loop has 4 layers, but no advanced cooling features.

Juno Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The comfort layer consists of 2″ of full-body cooling gel foam, giving you contoured comfort and a cool night’s sleep. It has a foam density of 2.5 lb/ft³.
  • Layer 2: The support layer is 6″ of total support foam, which makes the mattress feel firmer, provides extra edge support, and reduces motion transfer from the other side of the bed. Its foam density is 1.85 lb/ft³.

Loop Mattress Layers

  • Layer 1: The top layer is 0.75″ of gel-infused memory foam. Memory foam contours to your body’s shape while you’re lying on it, which lets the mattress “hug” you.
  • Layer 2: Like the layer above, this second layer is 0.75″ of gel-infused memory foam. RD Furniture describes the foam in the first two layers as organic, thermal regulating, hypoallergenic, and ergonomically supportive. However, the company doesn’t say how the foam provides these properties.
  • Layer 3: The middle layer is 2″ of “high-resilient” foam. This layer prevents you from sinking too deeply into the mattress, and insulates you from feeling the denser support layer beneath.
  • Layer 4: The bottom layer is 7″ of high-density “Bio Soy” foam. This is Loop’s foundation, and gives it the structure needed to support your body’s weight. Its thickness and density prevent you from sinking too far into Loop’s upper layers.

Juno’s cover design pays tribute to the classic striped wool socks that have been a staple in Canadian wardrobes for generations. Its knit material is made from polyester and viscose, with a prominent berry stripe along one end of the mattress. While the mattress cover cannot be removed, it can be spot-cleaned, and your purchase comes with a free bedding bundle that includes a mattress protector.

Loop’s mattress cover is made of white cotton fibre with a stylish pink zipper. Although we were able to remove the cover, we were unable to confirm whether it’s machine-washable. To be on the safe side, we recommend spot-cleaning only.

Return Ease

Free pickup and return, full refund

Exchange only; no refunds

Juno ships by ground for free using FedEx. Your mattress is delivered directly to your door throughout most parts of Canada. Additional fees may apply for some remote locations. RD Furniture subcontracts its shipping to various companies, depending on the region.

Juno’s sleep trial is longer at 120 nights, compared to Loop’s 90-night trial. If you return your mattress for a full refund, Juno will pick up returns for free within the sleep trial period and donate your returned mattress to a local charity in your area, or recycle the mattress if donation isn’t possible.

If you decide to return your Loop mattress during the sleep trial period, you’ll need to pay return shipping. You’ll have the one-time opportunity to choose a different mattress between nights 90 and 120. The exchange must be of equal or lesser value. Otherwise, RD Furniture will not refund your purchase, except under limited circumstances.

Juno has a 15-year warranty. We couldn’t confirm the warranty length of the Loop mattress. The RD Furniture website says Loop comes with a 15-year warranty, but the law tag on our mattress said it was covered by a limited, 10-year warranty.
