Endy is considered a medium-firm mattress with a score of 5.7/10, but there’s an added touch of softness from the top layer. It has a significant amount of “hug,” which means you will sink partway into the mattress when you lie down and could find it difficult to move. This may not be ideal if you like to sleep in more than one position.
It’s worth noting that the previous version of this mattress felt considerably firmer during testing. This newer version seems to be softer, but is still marketed as having the same firmness as the previous version.
Douglas, on the other hand, is a medium-firm mattress that’s remained consistent on quality since it launched. With a score of 6.7/10, Douglas gently contours around your body with minimal sinking so you can change sleep positions more easily.
Foam mattresses aren’t typically known for strong edge support. Douglas, however, sets itself apart with its exceptional edge support thanks to its all-around sidewalls. With an impressive edge support rating of 7.8/10, you can comfortably sit or lie on the bed’s edge without any fears of tumbling over.
The Endy mattress has good edge support at 7.3/10. While you shouldn’t have any trouble staying on the bed when you sit or lie on the edge, this score is still lower than Douglas’s.
In search of a foam mattress that offers exceptional motion isolation? Douglas is the best choice with a remarkable rating of 8.3/10. This means you can say goodbye to feeling any movement caused by your restless partner, or even when your kids or pets decide to join you in bed.
Endy has a good motion isolation score of 7.4/10. However, it pales in comparison to Douglas, which takes motion isolation to the next level—essential if you value uninterrupted sleep.
Low bounce is good news if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken. Endy scored a 5.5/10 for bounce, which is average for a foam mattress. Douglas has a below-average bounce rating of 3.1/10—a nice side effect of its excellent motion isolation.
Foam mattresses can be known to trap heat, so many modern foam mattresses incorporate cooling features to help combat this.
Endy noticeably lacks cooling features and earned a score of just 0.8/10. This cooling features score is due to the mattress’s layer of open-cell foam, which Endy says promotes airflow and breathability.
In contrast, Douglas Original has an array of cooling features and earned a cooling features with a score of 4.2/10. Douglas’s moisture-wicking CoolSense® cover, a layer of ecoLight® cooling gel foam, and a layer of breathable Elastex® foam all contributed to this score. Douglas is your best choice if you’re looking for a mattress to keep temperatures balanced as you sleep.
