Douglas, Endy, and Bloom are three of Canada’s most well-known mattress brands. But that’s where the similarities end. In head-to-head comparison between all three, Canadian-made Douglas Original outperformed the other two with its excellent motion isolation, a 365-night sleep trial, a 20-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle guaranteed with your mattress purchase—all at an affordable price of $799 for a queen size.
Competitor Endy costs more while providing fewer features. This Canadian-made mattress doesn’t have many cooling features. It’s backed by a 100-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty—considerably shorter than what Douglas offers for a lower price. Endy also offers occasional sales where you might receive free sleep accessories with your mattress.
Finally, Bloom Earth is popular among value shoppers who prefer a low price tag to more features. But despite being a value brand, Bloom may not save you any money if you need to return it. Sleep Country doesn’t provide refunds, only in-store credit that you can put toward the purchase of a different mattress (minus the $65 exchange fee). It comes with a 100-night exchange period and a 10-year warranty.
Overall, Douglas provides the product with more features, the longest sleep trial and warranty, the best motion isolation, and the widest range of sizes.

Good edge support is important if you like sitting up or lounging on the side of your bed, tend to sleep closer to the edge or need extra stability for getting in and out of bed—especially if you or your partner have mobility challenges.
Foam mattresses aren’t generally known for good edge support. However, Douglas, with a very good edge support score of 7.8/10, provides exceptional edge support, thanks to the all-around sidewalls.
The Bloom mattress scored similarly well with an excellent score of 8.2/10. The Endy mattress has very good edge support with a score of 7.3/10, but it’s a lower score than Douglas’s or Bloom’s. All three mattresses will let you comfortably sit or lie on the bed’s edge without any fear of slipping off.
If you’re looking for a foam mattress with exceptional motion isolation, your search is over. In rating Endy vs Douglas vs Bloom for motion isolation, Douglas is the clear winner with an excellent score of 8.3/10. This means you can enjoy a good night’s sleep without being disturbed by a restless partner, kids, or pets when they decide to join you in bed.
Endy has a very good motion isolation score of 7.4/10 and Bloom is in third with an above-average score of 6.2/10. However, both Endy and Bloom fall short of Douglas’s motion isolation score—and motion isolation is essential if you value uninterrupted sleep.
Bounce is a matter of personal preference. It measures how quickly a mattress bounces back to its original shape after pressure is applied. Foam mattresses tend to offer a slower response time, translating to lower bounce.
Low bounce is important if you’re a light sleeper who’s easily woken. Comparing the Endy mattress vs Bloom Earth, Endy scored a 5.5/10 for bounce, which is slightly above average for a foam mattress. The Bloom mattress had a lower bounce score of 4.2/10.
However, Douglas has the lowest bounce score of all three mattresses at 3.1/10—a nice side benefit of its excellent motion isolation.
Both Bloom and Endy are not designed with many advanced cooling features. The Endy, however, does advertise a couple of cooling features including its open-cell foam layer and moisture-wicking cover, which earned it a score of 1.8/10. The Bloom Earth mattress performed better, with a score of 3.2/10, as it has a few cooling features, such as a gel-infused foam layer, convoluted foam, and charcoal infusion in its foam layers.
Douglas Original has the most cooling features, such as a CoolSense® cover, ecoLight® cooling gel foam layer, and a layer of Elastex, a breathable latex-like foam. All these features earned Douglas a score of 4.2/10. If you sleep hotter, and value having more cooling features in your mattress, you may prefer Douglas Original.
